**This is no longer smiley cafe**
They had quiche and some pastries. The barista said they were getting burritos starting tomorrow (3/23/26). The quiche was good, cold brew very good.

Baristas are so nice and helpful! Espresso was just right and the art gallery is lovely to walk through. There were some artists there that gave us recommendations for what to see in Durango. All together very fun and beautiful place(:
I have Celiac disease. I’d never met a coffee shop environment that was as awesome as Smiley. Great place to talk and very safe place to eat for gluten free people. They used to have gluten free quiche. Then they had gluten free burritos. All pastries were gf. Tons of gf sandwiches. Coffee variety selection was great. Now, there’s maybe 4 gf options total. No gf burrito. No gf quiche. No gf sandwich. Not Celiac friendly at all. Proportion sizes are smaller and prices have skyrocketed more than other coffee shops. Their coffee selection quality has gone down. I had a pastry today, and quality seems like it’s gone down as well. It’s still a great place to talk. Please bring back the gf friendly environment and bring back all the unique drinks that made Smiley special.

Great place! Good coffee and other eats, excellent ambiance, indoor and outdoor seating...all in what's become a hub for Durango community.
Great little coffee shop with good service. :)
Cute cafe shop that offered Gluten Free items. We arrived around 11am are were disappointed they did not have the Gluten free Quiche, GF Fritatta muffins or GF bacon sausage burritos. So we settled for the veg burrito which was pretty good. The star was the Pumpkin Muffin with Choc bits. That was really good. I had a similar one in Pagosa Springs that was not nearly as good, so kudos for the Smiley for adding Chocolate to the muffin! lol. We ate outside at the tables near the street. It was very nice, quiet and peaceful. A short walk back to town.

Was not expecting this to be in a school. Loved that they kept the old architecture of the building. Coffee and burritos were great!

Favorite coffee shop to come to either for a quick pickup or to set up shop and get some work done. Every one of the baristas has been super friendly, and skilled in their craft! Love this place and love the gluten free options :)
