Came here to get lunch only to find a sign saying they only take doordash orders.

Nasty owner and food. Glad you're closing!
Really glad that the community has decided to not support this place. I took my mom and partner here for a "special" night out -- had been looking to splurge on a nice meal. Price was wayyyy too high for the quality, and the owner was absolutely a negative presence.

One of the better restaurants I’ve eaten at in the US. Delicious food and creative presentations. Amazing vegan/veggie options. Quite the surprise. Ignore the bad reviews, likely the kind of people who order brussel sprouts / caprese salad / artichoke dip / Mac n cheese etc at their local brew pub. Unless you like these lame, tired dishes, then yeah, don’t eat here.
I wish I could give atmosphere six out of five stars. We were asked to give a one-word review after our meal and we chose INTERACTIVE. As an industrial designer, I couldn't stop delighting in presentation after fantastical presentation. Pad Thai served in a blue bowl shaped like a hippopotamus's yawning mawl. My dinner companion at off a cake stand. The vegetables from my meal were arranged ikebana-style using a plant frog which was submerged in the curry sauce. I had their red wine (a nice, healthy pour) but would go back simply for a cupcake and a specialty cocktail. The yellow carrot may be unassuming from the outside, but it is anything but once you pass through its doors. Enjoy!

We dined at The Yellow Carrot for the first time after seeing the dishes online, and it was a remarkable culinary experience. Each dish was a work of art, beautifully plated and expertly prepared. The impeccable service added to the enjoyment, and every dish exceeded our expectations. I look forward to returning on our next trip to Colorado. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Well done to the chef!
Drop what you are doing and go dine at this fabulous place. The food is spectacular, the staff super friendly. It's a culinary adventure not to be missed - even if - like me - you are a vegan!
The service along with the food and drinks was excellent. We had the brussel sprouts done 3 ways, the life-changing fries, and the shepherd's pie; everything was delicious. Their food presentation is awesome. Very enjoyable dining experience :)
Really rude manager that spoiled an otherwise lovely evening.

The food is bad. The service is great. The $60 halibut special was horrible. The fish tasted old and frozen. For that price point I was expecting fresh and delicious fish. The whiskey cocktails were very good. Seems like they put more time into the plating than the taste.
Very creative menu with delicious results. Photogenic presentations. Outstanding, attentive service. The pomegranate roasted beets were delicious and unlike any beet dish that I have ever tasted. The wild Mediterranean salmon was delicious. It more closely resembled a Vietnamese pho than the usual slab of salmon that I was expecting. For visitors to Durango who enjoy fine cuisine, this restaurant should not be missed.
Feels like the menu was curated by someone who has no idea what flavors go together. There is a lot of emphasis on presentation over taste. For example, to serve an unsliced duck breast for $46.00 in a bowl is both annoying and amateur. As we looked around - nearly everything was served in a bowl for seemingly no good reason. Additionally, everything we ordered relied too heavily on sweet flavors - with very little savory flavoring. I was excited to try for the vegan/vegetarian offerings but they were all too sweet. Give ma vegetable curry for dinner not one that has mango and blueberries as the "protein" and a "spinach dumpling" that is simply spinach rolled up in a ball. Spinach rolled into a ball does not make a spinach dumpling.
Absolutely unique and incredible.
Couldn't have been happier for an amazing date night while traveling through. Wade took such good care of us and was so knowledgeable about everything. SO
