Was pleasantly surprised by the tofu and other vegan options. Enjoyed my meal here😄 Updated from previous review on 2026-01-12
We eat at Zia's all the time — it’s one of our absolute favorites! My kids love it, we love it, and the portions are always generous. My wife and I usually split a sweet potato bowl, and it’s always plenty. Everyone leaves full and happy every time. The atmosphere is awesome, and the staff is great. I tell everyone coming to town they’ve got to eat here!

Just want to give a Big thanks to this place! We always eat here when we’re in Durango!! Our first visit was12 years ago and now that we live in CO we’ve been eating the killer chips you sell to Natural Grocers. We’ve been sticking your sticker to our belongings for years!!! Thanks for being creative and yummy!!!

Great food. Always busy. Hard to get ahold of someone when you ordered ahead though. Not bad though, definitely 4 star.

It's very similiar to Chilosos. Food was good, had a 10 minute wait at dinner time but the line moved quickly. Most people are doing take-out so it leaves plenty of indoor seating.

We really like fish bowls. We order same bowls twice a month. Same mobile order. Today I have 4 star because QC was not done. One bowl had no sauce on it and other bowl had white rice. We always order to go and eat at park. Not like we can come in and tell you. Thanks

On our way from Flagstaff to Golden, we stopped to have lunch with our nephew who lives in Durango and he highly recommended we join him here. Nephew had a burrito bowl, he got the Tuesday special, chilli relleno, she enjoyed some chips and guacamole. All were freshly prepared and tasty. We sat outside and our Nephew told us the backstory on the local chain. The vibe was very local and was a great stop for a Mexican style lunch. Highly recommend Zia Taqueria.

Excellent fresh food with real Mexican flavors. The tortillas chips are the best anywhere!

Had to wait in line before ordering. Food was made quickly and workers nice. Being from Arizona, had higher hopes on Mexican food. For the price, we weren't too impressed. But again, service was great!

Zia is cravable. Local Durango business, local ingredients, amazing catering, adult drinks, fast fresh a la carte. I usually get the wahoo fish tacos or sweet potato bowl, but everything is great! Most of the taquerias in Durango are amazing, but Zia is probably the most popular, and with 2 locations, that are the most accessible.

The two stars is for the clean tables, and tortilla chips. This review reflects the food quality zias has to choose from. It is entirely summed up as “meh”. Instant rice, flavorless refried beans, your basic items are disappointing. If you’re from any southern region of the US and come here for Mexican style food you will be disappointed. Especially for its price point. There are a lot of other local spots with better quality in the same price range to choose from. Don’t let the long lines fool you.
