We had an amazing experience at South 40 Bar and Grill! From the moment we walked in, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable. The service was truly exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring about our experience.
The drink menu was a real standout, offering unique and creative choices that you won’t find anywhere else in the area. Each cocktail was delicious and clearly crafted with care. The food was just as impressive—everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely fantastic. South 40 offers a dining experience that’s truly one of a kind in the area.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for great service, unique drinks, and incredible food!
I'm so glad we stopped in for lunch. The waitress was prompt, friendly, and professional. I loved the interior of the place in its rustic western decor. The food was delicious, hot, and perfectly cooked. We will definitely return.
The place was clean the service was impeccable . Food was alright too!!!!! Just gotta say this place is great
Well, partner, I saddled up to that ribeye like it was my last meal before a duel. Juicy as a gossipin’ bartender and seasoned like it knew all the family secrets. Each bite was a square dance of flavor in my mouth.
That baked tater? Busted open like a treasure chest, loaded with enough toppings to make a cattleman weep. I tipped my hat to it. And then I ate it.
Yeehaw and amen.
The first place to remind me of texas since I've been out here Mandy was great
Not just a little unique bar and grill I’ve known the owners for years. It’s a great family owned restaurant. The service is fantastic. 1000/10 recommend!
Nice quiet local place. A little on the high side but I get it for a nice place in a small town.

Have stopped here many times over the years... off the beaten path, a very relaxing ride out from Kiowa, and the food & drink is really good! Great Old Town that is a little lost on time... feels like things are much simpler and quieter here!

I’ve been passing by this place for years on my motorcycle and today I was looking for a good destination to ride my motorcycle from Denver and decided to check it out. The reviews were good so seemed like a great spot to stop for a bite and a beer. I walk in, sat at the bar next to the cash register, and I’m greeted by two employees. Very nice. After that they passed in front of me serving other customers without even a glimpse. Even made eye contact with one of them numerous times wondering when is she going to ask me if she can get me an anything. After nearly 5-10 minutes of zero service I stood up, put on my coat and walked out the door. Needless to say, but I won’t be back.

Every time everything is beyond amazing!
My boyfriend and I went in on a Friday night to try their prime rib. The prime rib came with a side salad and roasted potatoes. The prime rib was very good but the potatoes could have been better. When we received the bill we then found out the prime rib was $50 a plate! We were stunned and didn't feel it was worth $50 a plate! Our waitress was awesome but the prime rib dinner just wasn't worth the price.
