This place looked great online.
We read reviews looked at the menu. The food looked great and reviews were good.
we booked a month in advance for my birthday.
I have had severe health issues, including cancer and major surgery, since 2020. Surgery last month.
So this was going to be a big deal being able to travel so far. We live in Longmont. With my health issues, it is difficult to make such a long drive.
My husband and I get up to Estes Park about once every five years.
Two days before our trip, we got a text saying we could not have the 2 o’clock seating that we booked.
We would have to change to 4:00
4:00 PM is when we will be checking into our room at the Stanley. We booked to have drinks and dessert at the Stanley at 4:30 PM
We texted back about this, Hoping the Rose could somehow fit us in at 2:00 as we had booked or maybe even 2:45.
But they texted back that we would either have to come at 4:00 PM or Cancel. Had to cancel.
Extremely disappointed.
There is no place in Estes even remotely like the wild Rose.
Were excited to be able to get up into the beautiful mountains after four years of sickness, surgeries, and my husband’s heart attack.
Wanted to celebrate my birthday and both our recoveries.
Their text said book for another day and they would give us dessert and drinks free.
But it is a long and grueling drive up the mountains for us at our age
And with our various health problems.
We will probably not get back up to Estes for another five years.
They didn’t even explain why we would have to book for 4 o’clock
Just said it was 4 o’clock or cancel.
Truly truly disappointed in this place
we would have easily spent over $150 on lunch.

The place is so dirty, the don't clean any table unnder the paper cover every table has, the decor shelving is full of dust, you can write your name easily, I put David on the Tequila one so you can see for how long it's been dirty, I'm wondering how dirty the kitchen is, food is not bad the sandwich arrived with the cheese and meet already cool.

All the food was delicious. The soup of the day, tomato basil was very smooth and seasoned to perfection (we didn’t get a pic because we at it too fast). The drinks were well made and our entrees did not disappoint

It took a while for our waitress to get to us BUT... The drinks were incredible. The food was fast but delicious. The sauerkraut was the biggest disappointment. It was cooked with sausage in it. I waa hoping for real sauerkraut... Cold, crunch and tangy. But it WAS good.
The calamari was my favorite. I'd come here again!

We went there for the first time today 10/12/24. Party of 4. Sat down... We were ingnored for about 10 minutes. People that got sat down after us got water and orders taken. So we walked out! The guy that sat us down looked at us and said nothing!
Great first impression and it wasn't even crowded!

Ordered the ribeye medium rare and received it well done. When I say well done it was over well. Told the waitress and she was like oh...I'm sorry. No offer to replace it or remove it. The meat seemed to be frozen first it was watery and I still don't know how it didn't have a sear but was over-cooked.

Went here on a whim and was not disappointed. Staff is friendly and LGBTQIA+ friendly. Both my wife and I got the Wild Rose burger. If I had to say one negative thing about the burger, it would be that the bun was a little dry. That aside, it was the most delicious burger I've had in an extremely long time. The fries were a perfect marriage of the best parts of fren h fries and potato wedges. Super crisp exterior, soft and smooth interior.
I am giving it a 4 star on the atmosphere, but that's only due to some renovations that are underway. Will happily and eagerly raise that to a 5 star when the renovations are complete.

Curiously high quality service for a relatively low price. The fries were unique and wonderful as well as the pickle ? ?

We walked up to the restaurant and requested a table for two. We certainly were not dressed exceptionally nice, but we were hungry paying customers. The hostess sat us promptly without a reservation, but that is where the service ended. After we were seated, every waiter/waitress avoided eye contact with us and did not address us at all. We waited for 15 minutes and were not even offered a water. The food smelled good and the prices were fair, but we chose to leave the restaurant before tasting any of their dishes given their lack of service. It was a bummer, as we were very excited to eat at the Wild Rose.
Wild Rose, please do not seat people who you have no intention of serving.
Sincerely,
A Hungry Hiker
