I super recommend this place. There was only one person on staff and he was amazing. Very friendly, very kind, loved his energy. Fast service, great food, great prices. We got chips and salsa as a courtesy as soon as we sat down.

I love Maya’s. We’ve been regulars (near weekly) for years. Anything with chicken tinga is awesome. Christina is amazing and seemingly holding the restaurant together with almost no staff. However, with new ownership has come menu changes, which I totally understand, but I’m really bummed about the fried ice cream being taken off the menu.

"OK" about sums up Maya's. Nice location and friendly staff, but the food is only okay (and expensive) and so I cannot really recommend. If you are in Evergreen and hungry or thirsty, it is a reasonable choice, but there are other - better - options nearby. Food - We ordered Chicken Mexican spring rolls (starter like a Chimichanga), Enchiladas, Nachos, Burrito, and Chili Rellenos. The spring rolls and the Enchiladas were both good, the best things we ordered. The spring rolls were well stuffed and tasty. The mole was also very good. The Nachos were big, fairly standard nachos. The Burrito was only so-so. The Relleno tasted okay, but wasn't really a relleno, it was 1/2 a roasted Serrano filled with melted cheese and wrapped in a wanton wrapper, no real flavor, no real spice. The green chili that came with the Burrito and Relleno was on the bland side, even the spicy version. We have eaten a lot of Mexican food (I've lived and travelled throughout the Southwest and Mexico) and this was not of a flavor or quality to justify coming back for. Drinks - We ordered a Grapefruit Paloma which was a little too sweet for me, but my wife quite liked. Service - Mixed. The staff were friendly when interacting with us, but not responsive in general. The restaurant was less than 1/2 full and yet we had to wait for someone to take our order. Our food was all correct, but other requests were forgotten or ignored, e.g. my wife never got the water she asked for. No one ever checked in with us to make sure everything was correct or to ask if we wanted/needed anything else, we had to flag down the waitress to get refills on drinks, our check, or anything else we needed. (There is also a sign by the front door which says, "we are having staffing issues, if you are unhappy with the service then you come work here", I understand the sentiment, but don't appreciate the attitude. That is their problem, not mine. I eat at nearby restaurants regularly, and they don't seem to have staffing issues.) Price - $110 for one alcoholic drink, three sodas, two appetizers, and three mains. With tip, you can expect to pay upwards of $30 a person. Frankly, high given the quality of the food and service. In general, if I am looking for good Mexican food, I will likely look elsewhere. There are better options, especially at the price point they charge.

Great location, absolutely horrible food. Margaritas taste like sweet and sour mix, guacamole came out as a lime juice soup, shrimp is tiny frozen dudes with no taste, chicken is the same and it will all immediately hurt your stomach for $70 plus 20% tip. Maybe sit on the patio and drink a coke? Hard to mess that up.

The staff of the restaurant were all incredible! Although they were short on staff, the owners came down to deliver food, pour drinks, bus tables, etc. The bartenders were amazing and so engaging with their positivity, even when they were slammed with customers. The food was AMAZING and the drinks were delicious. Thank you Reed and Christina for making our experience so delightful! ITS A MUST GO TO IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA!

Lovely setting (but everywhere in evergreen is lovely). Nice small patio for dining. Very pleasant wait staff. Limited options for onion allergy but that is typical of most restaurants that have pre made items. (Wish I could have a made-to-order Guacamole). Wait staff apologized that Paloma grapefruit drink (alcohol) was made with the wrong grapefruit juice but it tasted fine- just not as tangy as I expected. Dehydrated grapefruit garnish was an unexpected and wonderful addition. I ordered veggie tacos with avocado (extra charge). They came without avocado but staff was happy to bring a couple of slices when prompted. Hubby ordered Barbacoa tacos. Veggie tacos were delicious although a little messy. Barbacoa tacos were said to be good. Not a remarkable restaurant but good and reasonably priced. Comfortable atmosphere and very friendly and accommodating staff. I would come again.

Wow what a huge disappointment since ownership has changed! This is to be a gem in our Evergreen downtown but not anymore! Not only is the service slow because of being very understaffed but there were curse words being said and the owners talking to their staff in a bilittling manner was awful! Unfortunately we will not be back not endorse this restaurant to others! Oh and our order was completely incorrect after waiting 45 minutes!

This place used to be good.... Not anymore!! The food was cheap quality and tasted nasty, with a big price tag. Chicken taco had about 5 little pieces of gristly meat that tasted like frozen Tyson out of a bag with a little melted cheese, 5$ each. Veggie burrito, 20$, was a tortilla filled with squash, no rice, no beans. When you ask for some lettuce, you get some bagged salad mix that smells like the bag. The chicken nachos, had shredded chicken, they were ok tasting, but mostly chips for a whopping 20$ Taco Bell would have been better, I'm afraid. Saw our server once to take order and once to bring the bill. No wonder the place was empty when we walked in. Server told us it was under new ownership. The new owners obviously have a lot to learn about having a successful restaurant. This food was expensive and disgusting.

I really didn't want to make this review, but as a vegan and someone with kids who's worked in food service, I didn't want to do a disservice to others visiting. The food my whole table had was very poorly made-- nachos grande, numerous street style tacos, rice and beans, veggie burrito-- with low quality ingredients. It seems like everything was from a can or bag, from the vegetables to the meat, with zero seasoning. My veggie burrito had a huge tortilla to it that was full of solely zucchini, broccoli, and onion but only 1/8 filled. It was smaller than something you'd get for $1 at Taco Bell. I don't even know why soggy zucchini and broccoli were in a burrito lol. The quality was so poor. I'm talking vegetables that tasted old, like fermented, and were all soggy. The price was outrageously expensive for what we got. Especially since we had to pay and then get food elsewhere too. Service was virtually nonexistent on a slow night with two other tables in the entire restaurant. We all left hungry and upset, but didn't want to cause a scene with our server. We tried explaining how it wasn't good-- not even edible aside from the chips and salsa-- but knew it wasn't her fault. As a vegan, I was told by the host prior to sitting that there were numerous vegan friendly options. Even the veggie tacos had two types of dairy (cream and cheese), and the burrito was not worth $17 at all. $3 at most. I'm hoping to try again bc Evergreen needs a good Mexican restaurant!

LOVE Maya's! Their tortilla soup & carne asada salad are my favorites! Their white queso is amazing. When I've gone with a group, everyone has been pleased. Very family friendly. They have consistently had friendly attentive service over the years...they have excellent management and must have a good training program. We live Maya's!

Christina's margaritas are the best I have ever had! Amazing food also. But bro. The margaritas ? here are on another level. 10/10.

I would rate it zero star. I ordered a hamburger, they didn't heat the bun, it said LTO on the menu but it didn't have it, they didn't give me mayonnaise or ketchup. I only ate a little and told the waitress and she just said sorry, Even so, I charge the full price. I have cooked for 20 years and I know what it is to prepare food, if the cook does not have a passion for preparing food, he better retire.

Maya's was quite busy when we arrived. Dining room was closed but bar and outside seating were open. The servers were slammed but remained upbeat and friendly. Christina was calm under pressure and fun to chat with. We were in no rush so the wait was a welcomed slow down. Food was surprisingly excellent. We had the grilled shrimp salad and the veggie burrito. Drinks were excellent and on par with finer dining establishments we have been to.

Not only were the food and drinks (great bartender!) delicious, but the staff was incredible. We stopped on our way to a concert at red rocks and had an early dinner in the bar. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. When we couldn't decide between the desserts, we ordered two taking one for later. The owner was so nice he came out and told us how to prepare it for maximum flavor and he was right! You won't be disappointed in this place!
