Hands down the best BBQ I’ve ever had. My dog Cooper and I were greeted by Chef Scotty- tremendous guy & incredibly welcoming. I had a devils elbow with mule sauce- so many different layers of flavor in this sandwich & sauce. I’d drive from Chicago just for this sandwich. I got the spare ribs to go, and needless to say- just fantastic. Super dog friendly on the patio & the views of the river are spectacular.

We love this place. Great, quality food. The best fried pickles I’ve ever had and every cut of meat we try is phenomenal. The staff is super sweet. Definitely a must go spot :)

Overall Rating and is it worth a visit: 8.75/10 and Yes. This was the second time we came here, following a nice morning hike with the dogs. They can be found right between Bear Creek Road and Bear Creek itself, with Switchback being a cozy little spot with indoor and outdoor picnic table seating, and a full bar available. As one of the only places serving up smoked duck as an option, I would recommend this place to anyone driving by, but would also say it's worth making the short trip from Denver for a destination visit as well. Wide-ranging and non-traditional BBQ menu that includes items such as Montreal Brisket, which should please almost anyone in your group, with a dog-friendly patio that makes a great spot for a post-hike bite. Reasonably priced and with a super-friendly staff, I would recommend making a stop as they are easily a Top 10 BBQ location to visit in Colorado. Full review at The House Of Salt & Smoke

The food was somewhat average, I would not recommend the Mac n cheese, quite bland otherwise, the duck, ribs and fries were tasty and tender. There is seating outside beside a the river and there are heaters in the sunroom if it’s chilly. There is a small bar. The staff were welcoming and explained everything clearly. Nice little stop if you’re passing through.

This is some very delicious barbecue. Affordable prices. I recommend trying the duck breast.

We have been coming here for years. Every bite blows up the taste buds in your mouth. The meat just falls right off the bone. Everything is tender and cooked to perfection. I love the asparagus with the Hollandaise sauce. The duck ribs and bacon are my favorites. The drinks are made just right in the ambiance gives the total Mountain feel. Dog friendly as well

Started eating here in 2014. moved away for five years and just got back. They still got the best smoked meats🤤😋🫶

We were sadly disappointed. Flavors just didn’t vibe for us. Mac and cheese and asparagus were flavorless. Brisket was more like bacon but not as flavorful. Bbq sauces didn’t accent the meat well. Arnold palmer was not good and had a fly in the first one. Ribs were burnt and tasted unappealing. the fries were the best part but weren’t anything that would take me back. Sadly disappointed.

Best smoked meat I've ever had. I liked that I could choose which BBQ sauce I wanted and use as much, or as little as I wanted to. The sweet tea was fresh and tasted great. We want to visit again soon!
