Hands down the best BBQ I’ve ever had. My dog Cooper and I were greeted by Chef Scotty- tremendous guy & incredibly welcoming. I had a devils elbow with mule sauce- so many different layers of flavor in this sandwich & sauce. I’d drive from Chicago just for this sandwich. I got the spare ribs to go, and needless to say- just fantastic. Super dog friendly on the patio & the views of the river are spectacular.
Overall Rating and is it worth a visit: 8.75/10 and Yes. This was the second time we came here, following a nice morning hike with the dogs. They can be found right between Bear Creek Road and Bear Creek itself, with Switchback being a cozy little spot with indoor and outdoor picnic table seating, and a full bar available. As one of the only places serving up smoked duck as an option, I would recommend this place to anyone driving by, but would also say it's worth making...
The food was somewhat average, I would not recommend the Mac n cheese, quite bland otherwise, the duck, ribs and fries were tasty and tender. There is seating outside beside a the river and there are heaters in the sunroom if it’s chilly. There is a small bar. The staff were welcoming and explained everything clearly. Nice little stop if you’re passing through.
