We were driving back from the mountain and stumbled upon Switchback Sweet Shack in Kitridge, Colorado. It's conveniently located right off the road, making it an easy stop. I grabbed a Coffee Crunch cone, and it was absolutely delightful—fresh, smooth, and full of flavor. We sat by the river with the family, enjoying the beautiful scenery. It was a perfect way to end our day. Highly recommend!

My son left his tablet there and the gentleman working the Sweet Shack was kind and honest by holding it for us.
TIP: Ask about the secret garden tucked away by the scenic creek to enjoy your ice cream on some benches.
Reminds me of when I worked at the local ice cream shop growing up on the Gramd Mesa...only this is homemade! It is so delicious. I loved my split maple pecan and coffee crunch in a waffle cone? Sit by the creekside and enjoy the pause! I did twice this weekend

Sweet Shack is the best home style ice cream I've ever had. Open June, July, August.
Great service and relaxing atmosphere
Great little spot located next to the smokehouse. Has all the classic flavors you might expect from an ice cream shop. There seems to be a draught of ice cream in the valley but this place is well worth the visit!
