What a cool place! The food was amazing, the staff were great, and the layout of the restaurant, bar, and music area was very cool!

Meh. You come here when you're feeling nostalgic about the sandwiches and live music of your college days. There are better options down town.
Food does not live up to your memories, and the stoners working the counter are no longer charming in the grim sobriety of daylight.

We've been going to Avo's for over 40 years, since it was 1/3 the size and had no back patio. As it's grown, it has resisted the local trend of turning everything into a vanilla chain restaurant. It's kept its funky decor, great food and reasonable prices and added more music while keping its free spirit. Obviously a favorite.

This restaurant embodies all that it means to be part of a community! For over 20 years, I have been coming to Avos and enjoying live music, art events, sunny patio days, joyous wedding celebrations, delicious homemade tempeh burgers, and refreshing cocktails served up by the friendly bar staff. This may be the closest thing we have to "Cheers" where everybody knows your name.

I was so disappointed today, i order the reuben sandwich. With some vegetables, so it was just 3 small and thin pieces of meet in one of the half's and 1 piece at the other side. This is not a reuben. We pay almost $60 dlls with a French fries order, 2 drinks and a cheesecake was completely frozen.
Avo's has been a favorite of mine for years! As a long time veg, I can always count on them to have something inspired and delicious. This is a must stop when we have out of town guests for it's amazing patio and one of kind atmosphere. The place is so loved that I've had multiple friends have their wedding parties here. It's easy to see why this gem has been around since the 70's.

Recently reviewed this place with excellent reviews. However, just went tonight with my kids. Must say I was pretty disappointed. Both kid menu meals were pretty pathetic. I should have taken a pic of my sons burger. It was supposed to be a 1/4 lb burger but made a McDonald's burger look huge. It wasn't very good. My daughter's BLT had terrible bacon that was more than half fat and not cooked enough. Tried the cookies and they must have been several days old. Not sure I'd get these kids menus again if this is how it always is. Fish n chips and Avie club were good though.
Original Post- Really fun place. Food has been good every time coming. Fish n chips on Friday is great; however last time they ran out pretty early. Kind of a serve yourself kind of place. Great atmosphere and lots going on. $20 for their shows seems a it on the high side though, considering I usually buy food while watching

Avo's is the best. They have the best food, the best service, and above all that, the best staff. The people that work there make the place incredibly inviting and friendly. They are all amazing and know what they're doing. They make the best sandwiches in town for sure. You gotta go every week and see what new amazing concoctions they have! The specials don't always stay around long because they're so good!
