The staff and facilities were wonderful and extremely cozy and welcoming.
We were greeted warmly and seated almost immediately.
My wife ordered their mule and the bacon wrapped filet. Both were wonderful and she enjoyed them quite a bit.
I ordered a local beer and the pepper marinated sirloin. Unfortunately that is where things fell flat. I was disappointed that the beer was only about a 10 ounce pour. I double checked the menu to see if what I ordered was a shorter pour because of the ABV or for some other reason but the menu made no mention that I wasn't going to get at least a 12 ounce bottle's worth of beer for the $7 I was charged.
Then the steak was hands down probably one of the toughest pieces of meat I've ever had in a restaurant. Our wonderful server described the item as being marinated in a green hatch chili marinade with peppercorns. All I could taste was the black pepper without the slightest hint of the hatch chili. All in all it was thoroughly unsatisfying.
Our dining experience was truly two wildly separate stories. Every aspect of my wife's meal was wonderful while every aspect of mine was unacceptable.
All in all a shame.

I've been coming to the Charco Broiler for decades. I love the classic, rustic decor and quiet atmosphere. The food is great with a good menu variety. Whether it's for breakfast, lunch or dinner you can't go wrong. It's been a long time fixture in Fort Collins and I hope this Iconic restaurant is here for years to come!

This place is old school and I love it. Came in after a long drive. WAN ted hamburger w mashed potatoes and gravy and a salad. It was perfection. Smokey burger. Mashed potatoes and gravy your GMA made and a very fresh salad. Relaxed ambience. Dark. Rustic. Service was great. Parking and prices are reasonable.

Stopped in on a Thursday night, 700pm ish.
We were greeted and seated. 25 mins later the bus girl asked us for our drink order. I ordered a ginger ale, but those come from the bar and she was too young to retrieve it herself. So a second waitress came in and retrieve the drink for us, but 35 minutes had passed and at that point we still hadn’t seen our waitress so we walked out.
We’ve eaten there in the past and always had a good experience, but for some reason Thursday nights are too overwhelming for this restaurant.
