I have to say this place quite literally saved my life. I came in for brunch very hungover from the night before. Kelly our server was the absolute best. It’s been a while since I have had great service. The breakfast was delish, and the steak was so tender and cooked perfectly.

There was a group of 4 of us that came in on Sunday Morning. Our server Sam was friendly and took our drink order. We had 2 mountain dews, Dr Pepper and a Pepsi. The Pepsi and Dr Pepper were kind of flat but we didn't say anything. 2 of us ordered steak and eggs with fried potatoes, 1 ordered the eggs Benedict and the other a breakfast burrito with spicy potatoes. The breakfast burrito was not served with spicy potatoes and the guy who orderded it said it was weird because there were beans inside. Never have I seen beans in a breakfast burrito. The eggs Benedict was not cooked properly and the eggs were more hard boiled. The 2 steak meals had no flavor on the meat and was completely charred on the outside. It was like cutting through shoe leather. Everytime we tried to cut a piece off the steak the potatoes would go sliding off the small plate they were sitting on. Sam did come check on us right after we got our food before we really had a chance to try it, we didnt see him again after that so we werent able to tell him. When it was time to pay we had to go find Sam to let him know we were ready. (We had already been waiting for about 20 minutes after our meal was done by that point)
Sam did apologize and let us know there was other orders he was dealing with, not a big deal at all. This review is more for the lack of good quality food. I had never been here before and I was excited to try it since I heard good things about it. I was not impressed and wish I had gone to the other breakfast place instead. I will not be returning at all and I don't think the others in my party will be either.

We usually come for special occasions last night was my daughters graduation. Definitely a classic Colorado location too bad the food was terrible!

Ordered a sirloin burger medium rare it came well done tough and dry. My girlfriend ordered BLT it literally had three pieces of bacon on it.

Kind of sucks spending $200 on a dinner and then having to go to KFC after that to get some food we could eat.

Very disappointed!

Service was great for Friday night dinner, decent crowd, and our waiter was on point with waters and drinks from the bar. A little sad to say our food did not meet expectations. Have to give credit for the classics: steak, French onion soup, peanut better pie were all spot on. The big misses: burger I had was thin and undercooked (more bun than anything else and a thin slice of bacon), dinner rolls were hard and stale, and a big chunk of the bag the salads came in ended up on the fork and in a bite for one of our family members. Didn’t feel we got the value for what we paid. Too bad as this place has been an institution for generations.

I used to go there all the time when I was in college in the late 60s and the steaks were Fantastic because The meat was from Montfort, but the quality of meat has diminished slightly ! A friend of mine and I started a tradition of the raw steak sandwich for lunch when we would go there at least two or three times a week . We as locals coveted the little back bar !!! The ambience is still great, and the people are very friendly ! It was a dose of the past and it brought back some great memories !

Order steak sandwich and it was so tough, had to try two different knives and couldn't chew it either. Service was slow very few tables waiter suggested when we complained about the steaks that we try another knife. Then we had to ask for the manager he came over and said he would comp our meal as we tried one bite each and then he took 7 dollars off of a 22 meal. Will never go back. Much better steakhouses in fort collins

Walk in is like stepping back in time. I love how they keep the old way looking but made it classy. The food is hard to beat also.
