Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar

We always order the mussels there, and last night was no different. However, at least four of them were bitter, and there were several cracked shells mixed throughout the plate, which I ended up chewing on. Jax is known as an upper-end dining option in Fort Collins, and we always come in with high expectations. Because of that, the kitchen should ensure they're serving only high-quality mussels—properly washed, cleaned, and checked for open or damaged shells before and during cooking. I should have mentioned it sooner to our waitress, but I didn't bring it up until the end of the meal. Regardless, I hope the team can focus on consistency and freshness going forward. We'll definitely be back, but I hope this doesn't happen again.

It's been a long time since we dined at Jax. I had the mussels in broth appetizer and miso glazed salmon for my entree, my husband a house chop salad appetizer and the seared yellow tuna. Both were cooked to perfection and delicious. Our server, Ali, provided attentive service, was knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations. While our final tab was on the high side, we felt our experience and the food quality were well worth the price.

We loved all the fresh seafood, such a fun place for a birthday! My daughter loved it! Great drink menu too! We would highly recommend!

JAX has a great Happy Hour memo. We certainly enjoy the "peel and eat" shrimp, mussels (old school), salad, and various drink offerings. The servers are always welcoming and provide excellent service.

We had a delicious dinner at Jax. Their calamari should not be missed...light, fresh and the aioli is excellent. Grilled halibut was amazing, grilled perfectly with coconut rice and snap peas. Well done!

I always order the seafood chowder. It is just as good as the one I have had in Northern California.

We had an excellent time! Our server, Matt, was great! Offered many suggestions that came thru amazingly! Calamari is amazing. Oysters were great and everyone enjoyed their entrees too. Great place for a special occasion. Happy Hour menu looks great too, will be back!

Loved the cioppino Sunday night! Served with delicious bread and the wine selection was amazing.

Overall, this restaurant is very good. My only complaint is that the music volume was too loud. It would have been nice to have, say, dinner jazz at a lower volume.

Appetizers were great, but disappointing that both main entrees we'd come in to enjoy were sold out for the night.

It was a great meal that was enjoyed by all of us . Waiter was efficient and helpful. The only negative was there were a lot of tiny gnats (fruit fly type) flying around us constantly.

MARGINAL FOOD FLAVORS FRIES NOT HOT MAHI MAHI NO GOOD , SUBSTITUTE FOR HALIBUT, GREAT WINE SUGGESTION HOUSE MGR , VERY GOOD ! NOT A GOOD VALUE OVERALL FREEZING COLD INSIDE!!

Manager went the extra mile to make sure I was happy.
