Excellent food, but pretty much non-existent options for a vegetarian. Service in general very good too, but most level was high.

My husband and I come here every year for our anniversary. While we love the food and everything when they box up my food every single time they have been leaving tons of food out. I don’t believe that this is right. We have paid for it and when they offer to box it up we should receive all the food during that as well.

This restaurant is our new favorite restaurant when we visit Fort Collins. We were celebrating a birthday and our server made sure everyone felt special. The food was absolutely amazing! And the decor and ambiance was perfect for a romantic date or celebration with a group of friends.

One of our go-to places downtown Fort Collins that we've been going to for a decade or more. Consistently good food and service and one of my favorite bars to eat at.

It was a wondrous experience! I go to Rare whenever I want to celebrate and this time they noticed that it was my birthday :D Their generosity was an unexpected cherry on top of an already perfect day!One of my favorite things to do while dinning out is to listen to classy music while deeply appreciating the flavours of their 8oz Filet. It was a dance for the senses. Rare's steak was cooked to perfection, oh-so tender, and melted like the yummiest icecream!Trust me, you've got to try bringing some earbuds and listening to "Flatlands by The Aristocrats" while enjoying your dish. That experience made me feel like a celebrity.Thank you so much for being my waitress Melissa! I'll definitely be going back.P.s. another good song to try is "Arava by Avishai Cohen" as a jazz pianist I love this one.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at RARE Italian in Fort Collins, and I can confidently say that it was an exceptional culinary experience that deserves nothing less than a 5-star rating. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, the warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for an unforgettable evening.Let's start with the appetizers, particularly the shrimp bruschetta. The combination of plump, succulent shrimp perfectly seasoned and nestled atop crispy, golden-brown slices of artisanal bread was nothing short of divine. The freshness of the ingredients shone through, creating a burst of flavors with each bite.Moving on to the main course, Polpette Tajarin (beef and pork meatballs, finely cut noodles, arrabbiata sauce, parmesan, and fried basil) took center stage and stole my heart. The meatballs were a testament to the chef's expertise, achieving that delicate balance of being tender yet maintaining a satisfying bite. Paired with the rich arrabbiata sauce, it created a harmony of spicy and savory notes that danced on my palate. The portion size was generous, ensuring that every bite was a journey into Italian culinary bliss. What truly sets RARE Italian apart is the attention to detail in both presentation and flavor. The chef's commitment to using high-quality, fresh ingredients was evident in every dish, making the dining experience not just a meal but a celebration of the artistry of Italian cuisine. The staff at RARE Italian deserves commendation as well. The service was impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff enhancing the overall dining experience. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and answer any questions about the menu, further showcasing the restaurant's commitment to customer satisfaction. In addition to the outstanding food and service, the atmosphere at RARE Italian is perfect for a romantic date night, a family celebration, or any occasion that calls for a touch of elegance. The decor is tasteful, creating a sophisticated yet comfortable setting that complements the exquisite flavors of the dishes. In conclusion, RARE Italian in Fort Collins is a gem that should not be missed by any food enthusiast. The shrimp bruschetta and meatball arrabiata are just a glimpse into the culinary excellence this restaurant has to offer. Prepare yourself for a gastronomic journey that transcends the ordinary – RARE Italian is a true culinary haven in Fort Collins!

Amazing place food is so good! Reservations are same day availability which was a plus plus! Only downfall I would say is how loud it is in there I was not able to enjoy a date and do that much talking.

Rare isn't a bad place, but the food simply doesn't justify the price they are charging these days. For example: $30 for a bowl of risotto? The risotto itself was ok and cooked well in a quality beef stock. But why put a heaping tablespoon of butter on top? (the menu said something about mascarpone but it was butter). Or $29 for a small plate of pretty generic squash ravioli with a light cream sauce and some walnuts? Or $19 for a standard pour of non-appellation Burgundy, or $18 for a generic young Nebbiolo? At this price point, their competition is someplace more like Chimney Park - and their food isn't in that league. The food at Rare isn't even as good as Nick's on College, and Nick's is 1/3 less.

Every single item we got (pork belly, dry aged ribeye, green chili polenta, and carbonara) was amazing, and so were the drinks! Our waitress Elly was attentive but not hovering, and the rest of the staff was also amazing, clearing our plates as soon as we were done. They kept a keen eye out without hovering around. It was really exceptional food.

The food was the best Italian in Fort Collins. The wait staff was a little too over eager or upsell everything from your drink to your app to your main meal...same story to everyone was a bit annoying. Some of the circular tables in the middle of the restaurant have very obnoxious lights hanging over them that make you feel like your in a police interrogation while your dining and since they are all on the same dimmer as other tables you can't have yours dimmed. The amazing food makes it worth it though!
