Surfside7 is great and is definitely worth going to if you like punk music, amazing pizza and Chicago dogs, cheap beer and rich conversations! I was recommended this place by a friend and have throughly enjoyed my time here. The bartenders and other staff are all very kind and knowledgeable, they’re also very personable and they will look out for you. If you’re uncomfortable or have a problem they will take care of it in a polite and respectful manner!

They also host a great karaoke night that truly is a “shitshow” and it’s pretty fun! I have met a few great people the few times I have been. I have not attended a show yet here but based on Karaoke nights it gets loud and I highly recommend bringing earplugs if you’re someone with noise sensitivity!

Also really glad and comfortable to see their clear stance on making a place welcoming for everyone! 🏳️‍⚧️ ❤️ They do not do bullshit here! 🍻

This has became a regular place for me because of the inclusive staff, the good kind people that Surfside attracts, and of course the cheap beer.

Best slice in town! And ear candy is delicious for dessert!

Surfside is a must for me when I'm in town and I'd love to tell you why. But first, let's start with the why nots: It's not the food (even though it is pretty good, especially after you've had a few drinks), it's not the music (even though it is usually a bop-fest comprised of banger after banger), it's not the drinks (even though their PBRs taste like God herself poured them into her hands for you to lap up like the happiest dog to ever live), nor is it Wednesday night karaoke (even though karaoke is maybe one of three things keeping me going in this simulation we call life). So, what is it, you ask? It's one of the best bartenders on both sides of the Mississippi, which I can say given my residency history: Marti.

Marti is so wildly kind and considerate, always greeting me and everyone else with such a warm smile and even a willing ear when needed; they are more attentive than an eager-to-please labrador, constantly buzzing around the bar so that no one has to wait or want for too long; and they are funny to boot - what more could you ask for in a bartender and person? No tea, no shade, no pink lemonade to any of the other employees at this fine establishment, but I'd be lying if I said the atmosphere is the same when Marti is away.

TL;DR: If you are thinking of going to Surfside, I highly recommend and sincerely hope you are lucky enough to be blessed with Marti's presence while there. I promise that you will emerge a better person after making their acquaintance.

They got pizza the size of your face!
A very punk and inclusive atmosphere. Surf is genuinely a stable of downtown and one of my go to places.
You can not beat the staff there either.
Shout out to Marty! They have made that place a magnet for downtown service industry and that post-work beer hits soooo good at Sweet Ol' Surf.

I've been going here for almost two years now so it's about time I leave a review! Growing up in NJ, their pizza is the first in Fort Collins that brought me back to the NJ Boardwalk. Absolutely perfect. The staff here is great and I so love the queer, trans, and punk rock scene. Special shout out to Marty who is just the absolute heart and soul of this place. Going here for a show tonight for the umpteenth time and already can't wait. Thanks for being such a diverse, accepting place for the trans punk rock scene here in Fort Collins!

Went last night and the guy at the door with the big thick black glasses is so rude, can’t even look at you in the eyes, prepares you for what is about to be the most awful experience at a bar in Fort Collins. The male bartender stood in the corner with his arms crossed the whole night with a stank face not even paying attention to any customers at this small bar unless you physically flag him down. The girl working beside him, who was also ignoring all customers said “don’t do that” when trying to get their attention. Do these people not make tips or just hate their job as much as they act like it? I will NEVER go back there.

As one of Fort Collins’s top pizza connoisseurs, this is THE spot for pizza once you have had a few beverages. However, they need to work on gradually turning up the music when they shift from chill mode to party mode. It was a lot. But let’s party.

This is THE punk bar in FoCo, and out of respect to the punk scene they are 4 stars. If you want a 5 star bar, go somewhere else ;) I am here several times a month, my bands have played here a dozen times, the drinks are strong and cheap, they serve Malort, the sound guy is amazing, the music is loud, the slices are huge, they have graffiti in the bathroom, the staff is nice if you are nice, the patrons have tattoos and wear band shirts you probably haven't heard of, the jukebox has metal, punk, hardcore, alt, etc.. If that sounds good to you, then this is your slice of heaven in Fort Collins.

I’m not rating this good or bad
Based on stars but the principle of my experience. I just had a horrible night there tonight and the bar staff did not really have my back. I was dead sober ( half a hard seltzer in) just arrived and was there for like half an hour for karaoke. I stood at the bar with my friends. A man physically, aggressively, and purposely shoved me out of the way to sit with his girlfriend (he knows what he did). I stood up for myself, granted I took an aggressive approach it was valid based on what he had done to me. The bartender considered me the problem. What hurt the most was that the bartender who approached me to “not yell at people at the bar” was also a woman. I felt very unsafe and unsupported. I had to stand firm and hard for myself. I really enjoyed karaoke there and Jackson is a fabulous DJ. Sucks I can’t come back. Disappointment is all I feel. I hope that next time something like this happens the bar staff doesn’t make assumptions and point fingers without knowing the full extent of the situation.

This place was cool for the only "Dive" in the area. Cheap beer options, delicious slices of pizza, vintage jukebox. What else you want?

Good selection of draft and bottles. They do them right so be sure to grab yourself a Chicago dog (from a lifelong midwesterner). If you're still hungry, the pizza is excellent!

With stickers all over the booths and photos lining the walls, Surfside feels like it knows that it's loved. The regulars are more than happy to welcome new friends into that family too.

If you come to Fort Collins, don't miss this great little spot downtown!
