Horsetooth Tavern - opening soon under new management!

The atmosphere keeps the lights on. The food was mediocre at best and over priced. Service was sub par at best. We were given this place as a recommendation and vastly disappointed.

Food was great and the service exceptional. It was busy when we put in our pickup order tonight, but staff was attentive and made everything exactly as ordered.

When I came in to pick it up, the live music added a great vibe, and despite being busy the bartender took care of all my needs. They went above and beyond, we will be back!

I ordered the fish and chips but the food was just lukewarm at best. My friend ordered wings and fries which she said was also just barely warm. Our server was very attentive and kind. However, we noticed that a particular older server seemed to be ignoring our table completely. She attended every other table to see if they needed water or plates taken out of the way. She passed our table several times without so much as a glance. The live music added a lot to the ambience of this place and we even tipped the band performing. However, we ended up overhearing one of the band members refer to someone as a “transvestite”. The fact that we directly supported them made us hearing them say that was especially disappointing. Overall, the food was fine maybe 7/10 but the ambience ended up not as charming as we originally thought. We were pretty uncomfortable during our experience here.

Can’t say more awesome things about this place. But food was great especially for the value. Nice patio with umbrellas. Chill space, looks like they have a stage for music too.

Haven’t been up to the tavern in a while. It has been renovated and has an elevated look but the old locals only feel. Great music and food was great. We especially enjoyed the chili cheese fries and cold beer after our hike at horsetooth falls. Plenty of things to keep the kids busy and beautiful views.

Got no service at all today sat at the bar while the bartender Paige talked and conversed with other paterons and staff.. highly disappointed.. definitely changed for the bad .. who takes out a pool table smh just horrible

Great little locals spot with a cool atmosphere. The server was a little odd when we went. She didn't know anything about the menu and we had to get her attention pretty often. She acted like she would rather be somewhere else

Excellent spot for exquisite cocktails and yummy eats!

Well worth the ten minute scenic drive around horsetooth to dine in at this beautiful restaurant. The menu is dynamic and the staff is friendly and attentive. A perfect little date night getaway or a charming family brunch stop. Highly recommend dining here.

Horsetooth Tavern is the only game in town - literally. If you are at the reservoir, or just travelling through, it is worth a stop.

LIVE MUSIC on a regular basis. Every musician I have seen has been well above par, or excellent. I have not made a Karaoke night, but it exists. I will assume the calibre of entertainer wanes when open mic is a thing.

The food is excellent. I tend to order the fish and chips, which despite being served in Colorado, a land locked state - is excellent. The kitchen listens and executes meals well, on time, and consistently.

The number of times I have been to the recently re opened tavern have all been excellent. Bring the dogs, they are OK on the porch. The staff are all animal lovers, as far as I can tell, so Bikers are also welcome and frequent the location regularly.

Cannot give the Tavern a high enough rating. The ownership cares and is making a go in the foothills of Colorado. Courageous in effort for sure. Give em a try, you will be back.
