The staff was friendly and genuine, the atmosphere was up beat but not overwhelmingly loud. The food was absolutely on point without exception. The service was prompt without being intrusive. The cost was reasonable, especially for the flawless experience. This is the meal we will remember from our weekend in Fort Collins, and where we are sure to return. My girlfriend and I left in a much better mood than we arrived.

This place was AMAZING! Service was wonderful, the atmosphere was so nice, and food was lovely with a great wine pairing as well. Also we loved chatting with Heidi briefly about the history of the restaurant and her experience with being at The Regional

To put it bluntly, this was simultaneously the most expensive and worst dinner I’ve ever had.
We had the misfortune of getting the “Valentine’s special 4-course meal” God himself would be incapable of forcing this dinner down my throat again, even if it was offered free of charge. Of course, it wasn’t free, and $250 of my hard-earned dubloons, dutifully saved over the course of many weeks for a romantic night out, were burned in front of my eyes. Really, the miniscule portion sizes were a blessing in disguise, as I am nauseous even thinking about eating more of that slop. Let me break down the “food” we were brought:
- 1 (one) (single) oyster. This is the only thing which, in my opinion, was edible.
- 1 (one) (single) “squid ink” ravioli, which I still have a residual taste of, 12 hours later. If only it was a good residual taste.
- A few endives, which really resembled expired produce (e.g. slimy, wilty, and exceptionally unseasoned), and (I cannot stress this enough) UNSEASONED, RAW grain. That seems to be a theme. The “prosciutto” could have easily been burnt bacon bits from Walmart. Sort of, in my and the country of Italy’s opinion, defeats the entire point of prosciutto.
- “entree” of grainy, cold lobster tail and maybe 2oz of wagyu. Raw, rock-hard sweet potatoes which in my opinion were genuinely inedible.
- the desert ($110 per person btw) was chocolate covered strawberries, hollow and flavorless chocolate chips, and sorbet that tasted so concentrated, syrupy, and artificial that it gave me quite the headache.
The total quantity of food I have just described could have perhaps kept a toddler satiated for 30 minutes.
$250 can buy you 10 meals at Music City Hot Chicken. Or 25 meals at Taco Bell. Either of which would have been vastly superior.
It really was cartoonishly bad. Would not recommend to anyone with a pulse, but maybe a raccoon would enjoy it.

Came for the Valentine’s day dinner. $110 per person. Genuinely one of the worst meals I have ever had. I was really looking forward to the meal because when I have eaten at The Regional in the past it was really good. I was extraordinarily let down.
If the food had been good I would have been disappointed about the tiny serving sizes, but I was actually just fighting for my life through most courses. Both the single oyster and single ravioli I had were ~fine~. The endive lacked flavor and texturally reminded me of a wilted head of lettuce I forgot about in the produce drawer and then had to compost. They advertised wagyu and a lobster tail with sweet potatoes and beets for the entree. The 2 bites of wagyu were cold and basically raw, which some people enjoy but I would have loved the option to have it cooked to medium. It was also about 1/3 fat. I really had to fight to swallow it. The portion of lobster was tiny, cold and rubbery. The sweet potatoes were very undercooked. How do you fumble sweet potatoes? Dessert was passion fruit sorbet and chocolate covered strawberries, which thankfully was decent (hard to mess those up). I would have still been hungry at the end of the meal if I hadn’t been nauseous.
Bless my generous and kind boyfriend’s heart. He payed over $250 for the worst meal of our lives. We will laugh about this for years to come.

jesus… so damned embarrassing for the staff to have to serve a portion of food so small that a one year old would still be hungry asking for more. They should be ashamed of them selves for trying to pull this off… $110 for valentine’s day dinner and you get hardly any food at all. people next to me were even commenting on their dinner. i expected a steak and lobster tail… i got three very small slices of steak, not a steak, about 2 ounces of meat if even that… and a very small three bite lobster tail, one warm oyster, should have been cold, one ravioli, also cold, endive, and then the smallest dinner/entree i have ever witnessed in my life. To charge this much is angering. I paid for a steak… an entire steak, and got basically nothing. You can get an oyster for three dollars at Jax, who only serves one? i get it was part of the four course meal… but it wasn’t a meal, i suppose that is my point. The entire dinner was a snack. You can get a Fifty $ steak anywhere in town… so I’m confused as to why they didn’t serve a real entree? I expected something special. they should be ashamed for being so pretentious and out of touch about their food. It was not an experience that was positive. I understand fine dining and a curated experience, and value, The regional don’t provide that.

Second time coming here. First time about a year ago was lovely (great mix of small plates and entrees, maybe a different chef?). Tonight was disappointing, lobster fettuccine was $50…. underwhelming and luke warm. Waited 20 minutes for it to be recooked while my partner ate his entree and they took 10% off the entree. Bill was $300. Sadly will not be returning.

It's quite good!
Dining at this price point I don't demand perfection, but I will give some (hopefully constructive) criticism.
My main gripe with The Regional is related to value - everything is just $5-10ish dollars too expensive for what you get (in terms of quality and proportion), in my opinion. It's not nose-bleed pricing, but it is one of the pricier restaurants in town, and there's some pretty stellar competition in this range.
My other wish is for better acoustics. The hard, flat surfaces really can make the dining room feel loud when it's primetime. I would love for some calming measures here to make the space more cozy and high-end feeling instead of raucous gastro-pub.
Lastly, while I haven't been there enough to really speak to breadth of the menu, I have occasionally wondered if it's robust enough on the food side. On the drinks side, there are plenty (and they're good), but sometimes it feels like alcohol is actually crowding out food in terms of space on the menu.
With all that said, service and staff are always on point. And I've never left feeling unhappy about my meal. I do like The Regional, but usually I prefer going to a few other places in town at this price range.

I was absolutely In love with this restaurant from start to finish. Every dish we ate had a twist that made it stand out from any other dish I’ve eaten in the past. It was full of delight and surprise at every bite. Not only that, the restaurant has the homiest feel. I was charmed the entire meal.

The Regional might be my favorite restaurant in all of northern Colorado. Every time I visit and try something new, it ends up being the best version of that dish I’ve ever had. The ingredients are clearly fresh and thoughtfully sourced, and the execution is consistently spot-on. This is the kind of place I recommend to anyone who genuinely loves food.

I have always loved this restaurant. But this time.... the portions were WAY too small for the price. The flavors were all still top notch, but the portions were toddler sized and none of us felt full or satisfied from any of the meals we ordered. It took me 5 bites to finish my entire plate of lobster linguine and it's was 50 dollars. I know lobster is expensive but I don't care what kind of pasta it is.... for 50 dollars my plate better be filled with pasta. Instead it was maybe 3 full bites and my lobster tail was tough and rubbery on top of that. Another person in my party ordered steak frittes and her plate barely had 4 ounces of steak, if that. Our meals for 4 people totaled well over 300 dollars with our tip and we left to go to another place to eat more because of unsatisfying portions. The ONLY good time to go to this restaurant for proper portions that match the prices is during happy hour. I will no longer be coming for dinner or recommending this place to anyone for dinner in the future. I can't even fully express my disappointment in this review. For the amount of food we recieved, our bill should have been less than 100 dollars. This restaurant has lost a loyal customer with my latest experience. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!
Classic Fort Collins: expensive because everything downtown is, but aggressively mediocre. I wonder sometimes if this town is just bored rich people who are used to eating unsalted mashed potatoes.
