Just had the newly established Azteca breakfast. Ezekiel was my host. It was prepared to perfection. An absolutely wonderful Mexican memory brought back to life. As a 30 year local to Grand County who relishes the feast offered to the knowing, I totally and enthusiastically recommend the newest addition to Azteca’s fare - the Mexican Breakfast!!
Great place.

$10 for a baby portion of queso, hair in the food, floating black chunks in multiple cups, water cups had 0 ice (obviously had been sitting for a while).

If I could give zero stars, I would. Fuego Azteca in Winter Park is one of the most overpriced, underwhelming restaurants I’ve ever visited. $48 for their so-called “BIG” molcajete is an absolute joke. You’d expect a rich, hearty, traditional molcajete with a proper tomatillo salsa, the green foundation that defines the dish, but instead, you get a dry, flavorless pile of meat and beans that completely misses the mark. The portion was embarrassingly small, maybe one or two ounces of asada at best, and the chicken was overcooked and dry.
Anyone who’s ever eaten at an authentic Mexican restaurant, like LDP in Denver or anywhere that actually understands the culture, will immediately recognize how far off this place is. Even taking into account that Winter Park has higher food costs due to location and logistics, this dish is still $15–$20 overpriced. To make things worse, they threw pinto beans into the molcajete, something no traditional kitchen would ever do.
What Fuego Azteca is selling is not authentic Mexican food, it’s an imitation with tourist prices and none of the heart or flavor. The menu talks a big game, but what shows up on the table is bland, small, and disappointing. Save your money and your appetite, this place is all hype and zero substance.

DO NOT GO HERE unless you want food poisoning.
The chicken came out raw. Our server barely apologized and then did not take it off the bill. The server was so rude, never came back to check on us, never asked if we needed anything or needed drink refills. The atmosphere is very crowded, our chairs barely had any room. The server then added 20% tip automatically to the bill and while I usually tip very well, the service and raw food was NOT deserving of 20%. Terrible experience. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I had a bad experience at Fuego Azteca. The waiter was curt, short, and unfriendly.
We had ordered margaritas that tasted awful. They were overly sour with little to no alcohol. We asked for them to be returned and to have beers in place of the margaritas.
Instead of taking those margaritas off the bill, he only made the beers free, which isn't per restaurant standards.
At least the fajitas were decent.

Delicious food, great service and a comfortable patio. We tried this place after a day of riding trails in the mountains and had an amazing experience. From the delicious house made salsa to the flavorful queso, it was all good. We ordered the tacos al carbon and each of the 3 tacos were large and rich with delicious flavors. The rice and beans were good as well. The plates were large serving sizes and we ended up taking leftovers home too. The service staff were friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the meal and experience and will be returning here again when we visit. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Mexican meal in the winterpark or Frasier areas. Great job!

Pass on Sharky’s. Go a few feet further for an amazing margarita and something they call a pregnant donkey. I kid you not it’s the best! Cross between a burrito and a rellano, this is inspired!
