Beautiful views of metro Denver & across the prairie in one direction, the foothills around Golden in the other direction. Lots of good photo opportunities. Park is not crowded, right before dusk was perfect time. Walked to Buffalo Bill's grave, stopped at the Teepee store. It's unclear why city is closing it & if it is just temporary. Did the museum itself on an earlier trip, worth a visit to see the collection
The Buffalo Bill Cody museum was very informative and interesting. Make sure to watch the 20 min movie, which chronicles his life. So many beautiful artifacts, which were donated by people who worked with him, knew him, as well as his foster son.

This is definitely worth the 2-3 hours it takes to visit from Golden! Add it to your itinerary. We had a nice lunch in the little Cafe as well as took the very short walk to the Bill Cody grave and spent some time in the very impressive museum. A fun byway on our trip!
