I couldn't believe how rude the older man behind the counter was. Also, they handle their food directly touching the products without gloves. I will never patronize this business again.

My wife and I stopped in since we were staying close and wanted to try the local coffee shops and enjoy something besides the hotel blend. We had high hopes but were let down. Not sure if the gentleman was having a bad day but he was extremely short and rude. My wife had the banana bread latte and it was mid at best. My coffee was fine but after the service we decided to try other spots.

Coffee is on the same level as Starbucks so not great. Inside is pleasant. Had a strong smell of cleaning products which was not appealing.

Cute cafe, The barista was very busy woth a rush when I came in, but she still had time to make everyone laugh and my drink was fantastic. Lovely place to study, lots of nice plants inside and outside, nice selection of drinks, and very clean. I can see why it is so popular!

Visited this coffee shop on the first day of our trip to Golden. Nathan was so friendly and funny and made us feel right at home! Iced coffee was great and bagels were awesome too! Decided on day 2 to try and visit another coffee shop in town. Walked into 4 others and ended up walking back up to Higher Grounds with Nathan! This time grabbed a latte and Salted Caramel Frapp. Nathan remembered that I liked it sweet and doctored it up a bit for me! Muffin we tried this time was great! Trust me this shop is worth the walk up from downtown! Until next time…

If you love coffee- skip this one. This was reviewed well but oh man were we disappointed! The line was long- I think mainly because the cashier was also the barista- it was a one man show. The coffee tasted like burnt tar. Our whole group ordered different drinks- all equally terrible.

Loved it. Normally local coffee shops cannot make my iced drink sweet enough compared to Dunkin.... But this place did!

Also had a chorizo breakfast burrito.

People choose people and this staff is fantastic. Will always go back when I can.

Really personable employees, good coffee, and open early. Was a great spot a short distance from our bed and breakfast to wake up and start our days.

Our coffee tasted like soap and the people behind the counter had huge attitudes. Didn’t feel comfortable coming back in to ask for them to remake the coffee. Ended up throwing it away after one sip and getting coffee somewhere else.

It was a nice enough place from the outside. However inside it smelled really badly of mildew like old wet carpet - guess what it had an old carpet! I'm not sure how healthy that is for the customers, breathing that in. Toilets also kind of gross. Coffee was bland and the scones were definitely off. My belly was not right all night. I am baffled at the high prices and the high reviews. This place is not hygienic won't be returning. The owners clearly don't care.
