Wondervu Cafe

My family got take-out on 1-4-2025 and were very disappointed. The rellenos with green chili were kind of bland but okay. The cheese enchiladas were hard inside and no one in our group was too sure about the new crema sauce. The side of beans was interesting, black beans not the typical pinto. The side of rice was horrible - bland white rice with frozen carrots and peas thrown in. There is no longer an a-la-carte option for enchiladas or rellenos, so we ordered an extra plate. Dede's no longer cooking her wonderful pies. New menu is very limited. Food was marginal. The biggest complaint though is that everything was separately microwaved in cheap plastic containers so we got an extra helping of PFAS with that order. There is a new owner so hopefully things will improve with time.

Great service. Great food. Great margs. Great vu. Barstools could be a bit more comfy.

Once Kathy and John at that bar are gone I'm sure it will be a great place.

A place we will never wonder about again. We paid $4 for salsa and chips. Blegh. MAYBE 3 tablespoons of extremely salty salsa and in a tiny bowl with huge tasteless chips.
Mexican hamburger, SUPER greasy.
Green chili bowl that was ok... just okay.
ONLY thing I could safely eat, as everything else had MSG.
Just not worth the $$$ cost.
pass this place by.

New owner chef Oscar's food is amazing. Ordered the shredded chicken burrito bowl and was fantastic. Also presentation of loaded nachos was awesome as was flavor!

Last night was by far the best food that we have ever had at the Wondervu Cafe. The Chef (Oscar) and his wife were warm and welcoming and they paid close attention to every detail in the entrees that our large table ordered. We had nachos, a Mexican burger, Chips, and Salsa, and a seasonal Guacamole. I can't even explain how good the food is. The Guac was perfect with the goat cheese and pomegranate. I/we are as thankful to have leftovers. The chips were homemade, everything was fresh and perfect. I highly recommend going to the Cafe as I know we will be back.

Pretty standard fare as far as the food goes. Not going to knock your socks off but won't disappoint.

Service has always been just fine, no real issues of note.

Parking is a bit slim but it is rarely packed to the brim.

I never mind a quick stop at the Wondervu Cafe

Beware! UNDER NEW OWNER.
All the authentic and fabulous food I have enjoyed over the last 25 years is gone.
Replaced by bland sauced up and overpriced food.
Was truly a gem!
I am sooo sad

Update. 11/24. New owners have brought a renewed creativity and freshness to the meals. Go try it and see.

We had a nice lunch here. The menu had a lot of choices for us as vegetarians. I had the vegetarian tamales smothered with green chile sauce. We were seated right away and service was friendly. There is plenty of seating both indoors and outside. It was such a pretty drive up to the resturant and I would like to come again.

Service was horrible. Asked for a pat of butter for my coffee, ignored. Coffee refill ignored. Waited 1hour for pancake/eggs/bacon. No coffee refill in 50 min. 1hr later finally offered a coffee refill by a different waitress. Staff joking around piss poor service. They have had really good staff. Not sure what happened.

Wheelchair accessibility: Not very accessible.. we made it work with a wheelchair but wasn’t ideal
