We were met initially upon entering the restaurant. The waitress came quickly and asked what we wanted. We ordered drinks and said we were still determining what we wanted. She brought our drinks. We ordered dinner she asked if we wanted anything else. We said that's enough to get us started. That's where our service ended. Food was good. Had to ask for extra wasabi twice. When I needed another drink, I had to ask the waitress. After our food was gone and our drinks were empty, we still wanted to order more food, but the waitress didn't pay attention to us. However, several take out customers showed up and were waited on promptly. My advice, order take out. Don't dine in. Don't know if it's the waitress fault or management. The last time we were there they had three people. 1 waiting tables, 1 minding the counter, 1 in the kitchen. This time only 2.

Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Terrible food, the slowest service imaginable, tiny portions, and dirty area.

i tried out this place on valentine’s day and was disappointed. we walked in and were told to take a seat at a dirty table. it was cleaned off while we were sitting down which was a little off putting. the place did not seem very cleanly at all, they were using microwaves and the water was self served from a pitcher.. the water was awful tasting, neither of us could drink it. the service was incredibly slow, we waited over half an hour to get our meals, and appetizer, a seaweed salad. the seaweed salad had no flavor to it and was sitting in a pool of water, on a plate. my meal genuinely seemed prepackaged. I ordered the udon curry which consisted of a few chunks of chicken, 3 pieces of broccoli, 4 even smaller pieces of carrot, and a pile of udon noodles in a sauce. my boyfriend got the katsu, it was okay but the rice was mushy. sadly will not be returning here

All we got was sushi. Overall it was mediocre desert sushi, not too much higher quality than city market sushi. Also the portions were small for how much you're paying. There was a strand of someones hair on one peice of sushi when it first came to the table. Personally I didn't care about this, wasn't in a rush, but service was slow, there was one party of 8 there before us, but no one else. Again I didn't mind the service being slow, but it might not be for you. The import beer I had was good, they had a cold glass which I love. I probably won't come back, as you can get a cold beer and mediocre food anywhere for much cheaper.

I used to like Kunikos. But when I went last night everything was bad. We were barely acknowledged when we walked in. The sushi rice was hard, the place was kinda dirty, the food didn’t come out together or in order, and the manager passively aggressively asked us to leave because “she had to do home” even though one of us still had food on our plate. Never again.

Food was really great taste but the order the food came out was weird and overall slow. My date got her food and finished it, then our appetizer came out and we finished it, then 15 minutes later my soup which I awkwardly slurped up while date watched. Service could certainly use some work. They were nice I suppose, albeit inattentive. No checkins, no water refills.
Best Japanese food in town. Truly home-cooked ambiance.

Menu selection was great but the service was TERRIBLY SLOW and there were only 2 other parties eating in and it took 25 minutes to get out first appetizer plate , which was edamame and there was only ~20 beans in there for 2 people and they did not ask me if I wanted anything to drink , just assumed water was ok and my mom had 2 beers before our first roll came out. The taste and quality of the food was delicious but the portions could be a little larger.

Hospitality was wonderful. They acknowledged me right away. Apologized for a slight delay. Peak lunch was wrapping up.Environment is on the small side but definitely feel of authenticity. ??
