We attended our second wine pairing dinner at the Zesty Moose with Shiras Winery and have yet to be disappointed. The owners take such care to test their recipes (which are always delicious) and find the perfect wine to pair with it. Such a lovely experience that we always look forward to attending.
Wine was good, hard to find because it's part of the restaurant and the tasting process was different. List of 20 + wines, 1 glass and a waitress brings the samples 1 at a time between her phone time.
We had a VERY pleasant time at Shiras Winery. Great conversation and even better wine tasting. This is a charming shop/tasting room. When we return to Grand Junction to visit wineries, Shiras is a must visit!!
Great place
Extremely rude service, when I asked about wine making process the person responded in a very rude way saying "I had no Idea what I was talking about" and I was "clueless" then hung up on my face. If i could give 0 starts I would.
Loved this winery!! Had the pleasure of tasting their wine at a local wine tasting festival and loved it. Can’t wait to visit them at their locations!!
Great place
Thank goodness for Shiras Winery. We had an unexpected 2 hour delay due to the amtrak 'Bus Bridge'. And we ventured out to Shiras Winery which was awesome. We sampled 6 local wines for just $8. I personally recommend the Symphony which is one of the 3 bottles we took to go. Diana, the owner, was friendly and very knowledgeable on the local grape scene. She and Shrias Winery saved the day and turned this delay into a HUGE win! #WineWin #Charcuterie
This place features wines, not only from the owner and winemaker but other wines from Colorado. The wine is good and the charcuterie board is tasty and great presentation. The service leaves a lot to he desired. From the moment we walked in, I felt like we were intruding. Once we started talking to the winemaker/owner it felt more comfortable but as they got busier we were forgotten. As the owner and spouse were serving, I don't understand how the service is not better. I am in the service industry and if I gave service like that, I would expect my performance to be addressed. Although the wine was good, I would not return due to the service7/27 amendedIf there had been a notification that you were closed to walk-in business, and that the table where we sat had been reserved, I could understand the annoyance. However, there was no communication as to any of the things you mentioned in your review you wrote for me. That communication would have made a big difference. I would like to give the benefit of doubt and am sure that had there not been added stress of the "event" service would have earned more stars, but showing what I felt was annoyance at our arrival and ordering of a charcuterie board I will keep my rating as originally given. Thank you for the explanation.
Long visit here after a beautiful bike ride - had the cheese and cracker tray and a flight of all the Shiras wines. The samples are about one ounce, so 7 oz for the tasting. Mom served while daughter (One of the Owners - Diana) helped others and chatted with us customers. Great moose education. Gift shop ships items throughout the US.Local artists' work on display in eating areas.Highly recommend.

Brian (the owner) is so nice and extremely knowledgeable about wine and the area. We had a nice time chit chatting and he answered all of our questions. The wine is delicious with a range of styles and varieties. This business is owned and run by Brian and his wife. They offer wine from local winemakers in the area. Shiras offers a 6 wine wine tasting for $8. They also have a charcuterie if you are feeling hungry. The winery is inside “the zesty moose” which is part of their business. We will definitely be stopping in whenever we come through grand junction in the future.
Good winemaker! Definitely will be back!
