It's fine. The restaurant was empty except one table, and no one could be bothered to seat us. They knew we were there, but esentialy ignored us. We stood for 7-9 minutes beforeanyonee approached us. Food was fast, real fast and I appreciated that. It was fine, but my least favorite mexican restaurant in gunnison. But in a pinch, it will do... I guess.

I'm surprised there weren't more people. I had the tacos Al Pastor which were delicious.

The service was great but they were out of a lot of things I tried to order. They had some large group days before, so they were short on items.
Kid-friendliness: Ok for kids. Lots on the menu if they're stocked up..

This place has a low rating for a reason. Food was not worth $30 a plate, I don’t know how they’re even getting away with it. Also had 3 friends work here from out of country under the table for a month, and the owner kept blowing off their payments until they left. (He never ended up paying them their wages, which weren’t even that much considering the value exchange he chargers per plate). Just go home and cook up some wet dog food in the microwave for an experience at “Agave Family Mexican Restaurant”

It's pretty schocking to me that in 2024 a restaurant can't handle a group larger than 6 people. We had a group of 14. They didn't get all the meals ordered so we were one short. Then it took 30 minutes to pay. They just couldn't figure out how to ring it up. Wake up. Your a restaurant.

Best seafood in town! the ceviche is world class, and the best margs!
Sometimes you just find a gem. I ordered fajitas because it is a safe bet at many restaurants. The seasoning in the chicken was outstanding; loved it. Later the host brought me some hot sauce that he recommended. It was hot, but rich in flavor, so good! I'm not great at guessing flavors but it seemed like adobo and chipotle had a spicy child. Even if the food was average, it wasn't, the people made it great! Good luck Agave.

Terrible service and food!. I ordered two cheese enchiladas with a taco, my son ordered steak fajitas. They brought me one taco and my son chicken enchiladas. Not sure how they even messed that up. When they did bring the correct food, my cheese enchilada was cold and raw. The waiter also forgot what our drink order was "Two waters", that was actually funny how he could have such lack of memory! Avoid! your chance of a good meal are better at Taco Bell!

The whole family loved this place. I got the green chili burrito. Loved. My husband got the shrimp burrito. We all got a taste of it and it was delicious. We will be returning
Dietary restrictions: I have a dairy restriction. They were accommodating.

Avoid! You’ve been warned. Food was terrible. The cheese in my enchiladas was cold and obviously not cooked. The server forgot what we ordered to drink (2 Waters). Then the order was completely wrong. They brought us tacos for Fajitas and my cheese enchiladas came out as beef the first time. Wait time was for meals was about 50 mins despite only one other couple but we could here the cooks shouting in the back about the game they were listening too.

Awful. The rice was crunchy, the food was not seasoned and my shrimp wrapped in bacon was very questionable. The bacon looked so old and not cooked, wouldn't reccomend.

The food and service at Agave Mexican Restaurant were so terrible that I can't fathom how they manage to stay in business. It's possible they rely on unsuspecting victims like my group and me, who were simply passing through town. The fact that the restaurant was nearly empty should have been a warning sign.It took an excruciatingly long hour to receive my grilled chicken "salad" ($16.95) which turned out to be an unappetizing concoction with chicken that tasted like wood chips, all drowned in an excessive dollop of sour cream atop plain romaine lettuce. I couldn't help but feel sorry for any animal or plant that sacrificed its life for this dismal dish. The tortilla soup ($11.50) I ordered would lose in taste to a 99-cent canned soup from Walmart. I would compare its flavor to a salty dish water. Unfortunately, my friends' "meals" were equally disappointing, and the service matched the low quality of the food.In all honesty, you'd be better off grabbing something from the freezer section of a gas station. My strong recommendation is to steer clear of Agave Mexican.
