We went here before we read any reviews. Had seen the absolutely packed parking lot at lunch time so we went for early dinner. We are from southern Arizona and used to every style of Mexican food there is and we loved this place. Not Tex - mex…much more authentic sauces and styles. The chorizo was outstanding on their chorizo tostada. We definitely will go back.

Food was okay Mexican food (not exactly authentic). Staff started out polite and helpful, but then the lady manager was very rude near the end when we asked for an itemized receipt. The lady manager who was the rudest, then took about 30 minutes to use their outdated way of writing down each of the expenses on a note pad and their individual prices. Seemed a little sketchy since they take out an automatic 20% for larger groups, hence why we wanted an itemized receipt to confirm. I would of given 3 stars but the lady manager really ruined it. Rest of the staff was nice though.

This was the worst mexican food that I have ever had. No plasticware , napkins and 26 dollars for two bean burritos with cheese,,every thing was rubbery and cold. Stay away

Took forever for the food to come out. Draft beers were poured short. Food was mediocre at best. We told server to split bill before the food came out however they refused to split the bill at the end. They did not give us an itemized bill. Update: Warning- they automatically charged us a 20% tip to the bill.

Service was great! I had a chile relleno a shredded beef taco and a coke and I was happy with my choice. My bill was $19 with out tip. The cost was pretty much on par with other restaurants in my opinion.

I was staying nearby so I walked over as it was a modern, clean exterior. The service was very good. The food was pretty expensive for honestly kinda mediocre Mexican food.

Food had literally zero seasoning. I had the taco salad, my sister had chicken tacos and BOTH of them were completely devoid of any flavor. If they had been giving this out for free, I would have still felt ripped off.

My wife and I were in town and wanted to try a local restaurant. This place looked inviting, so we decided to try it. The building is on point, but the food is NOT authentic and NOT good. My wife’s tacos were sad. The chicken had zero seasonings, and they threw a little lettuce and cheddar (real authentic) cheese on top. That’s it. We asked if we could get some pico and the waitress explained that they do not have that. Really? Authentic? I got the burrito supreme. My chicken had zero seasonings on it. My wife asked me if the chicken tasted old, like it had been it a fridge or freezer a long time. I said, yep! Tasted like a dog. The bill was $39 and change without the tip. Honestly, Taco Bell or Taco John’s had more flavor and is about half the price. The chicken didn’t sit well with either of us. Not fresh and zero seasonings. The ONLY positive things were our waitress and the building. She was brand new but did well. We didn’t want to ruin her day by complaining because she wasn’t the one who made up the menu or prepared our food. Would love to have a refund. Tasted awful and cost $46.92 with the tip.

We arrived and was told to sit anywhere. Sat at table in front of hostess station. After several minutes young lady dropped off menus and silverware but did not ask for drinks. After 10mins a lady sitting by window with her children approached our table and said there was some confusion. I expressed my disappointment with the wait time for drinks and I said I was just about to get up and leave and this woman (who claim to be the manager) suddenly got rude and said there was confusion but if we weren't happy we could leave. My partner asked to speak with manager and she insisted she was even though she was eating with food in her mouth and children at table. Very unprofessional & discourteous to guest. I've owned my business for 30 yrs and never would I treat a patron as she did. Thank God for the nice steak house down the road. I will be sure to express our disappointment with this resturant. We visit Gunnison often in our Motorhome but we will never spend our money at any Ruiz Family owned resturant if that is the way they have employees treat patrons and how unprofessional to have her eating with her children and then rudely approach our table with a bad attitude. Even the nice black gentleman that kindly greeted us at the door upon arrival appeared stunned. We politely left at took ourselves to the familiar Ol Miner resturant where we know they have quality food & service!
