“The pork tamales are okay but it's more masa then anything no chille inside just the meat is a weird combo haha little dry I use to think this place has great tamales they sorta need a little work with the red and porl tamles the mask on the rajas ones are so good can't taste that same flavor on the pork witch is weird needs some type of seasoning maybe a little salt?? Idk but not horrible:) they aren't worth the high price anymore the tamales need work and the chille relleno burrito is a little dry also“

“I went to Black Eyed Pea to help celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. There were about 20 people in our party. The service was exceptional. The waitress did not miss a beat. The food couldn't have tasted any better and the amount of food for the money was excellent. I think everybody in the party ordered something a little different from everyone else. The selection of food was amazing.
I ordered the veggie plate. I had black eyed peas, red beans and rice, squash casserole, macaroni and cheese, and fried okra. There was enough for me to bring home for the next day
It wasn't overly crowded on the day that we went. It was just a nice relaxing atmosphere and they catered to our party well.
Everyone raved about the service that we received as well as the amount of food and the taste.
Overall, I was 100% satisfied with the experience.
My meal with an iced tea cost approximately $20. But again there was enough food for two meals. Most people went home with a to go box because they could not finish everything on their plate.
We also got plates of homemade rolls served family style.
One party member ordered the chicken fried steak and it was as big as the plate.
Another party member ordered the potato bowl and it was huge. He said it was really good too.“

“The Spicy Alfredo was quite good and the Craveable Chicken Parmesan was also incredibly tasty. A little slow on preparing the order, but it was worth the wait. Only point I would make is that using the premade (probably boiled) cubed chicken from the pizzas is not as good as if you seared and cut a fresh breast for the Alfredo + “Blackened” Chicken. Given that it cost $4 more, I’d recommend cooking it fresh, it made the Alfredo more watery than it should have been. Otherwise, we were very happy with our dinners!“
