Everyone loved taking a day trip to Echo Lake Lodge. It was friendly, warm and had personality.
Seasonal workers were from all over the world, fun to meet interesting young people just starting to explore.
The homemade pie was excellent and the atmosphere was authentic.
A treasure for all people to enjoy and is greatly missed.
Amazing location
Beautiful spot at base of Mt Blue Sky. Echo Lake nearby.
Echo Lake is so beautiful. I took from Idaho Springs exit 240 off I-70 and turn south on Highway 103. Echo Lake is about 13 miles from I-70 and is on the right. The east road in enters from Evergreen Parkway. Both are amazing drives and views. Echo lake lodge closed 2022 but thankfully Denver parks and recreation is going to refurbish and reopen the lodge in 2026 for its 100th year anniversary. The lodge has so much history. When it was open in the past there was a souvenir shop and restaurant serving good comfort food. I'll definitely be there for the reopening.
I used to love this shop growing up. Unfortunately, it's closed, and I dont get to share this cool cabin with my kids who would love to see the inside
Charming gift shop. The wide array of gifts is great to bring back souvenirs and was gladly impressed that they accepted Apple Pay.
Bought a nice aluminum backpack cup. Not a good selection of Echo Lake items.
I really hope the new owners don't change it too much. It is a part of Colorado history. Please keep it as a lodge, a mountain lodge and restaurant. The gift shop as is, is wonderful. Could sell more Echo Lake items, there was a lot of Mt. Evans stuff, of course. It is a beautiful drive up there, and a beautiful hike and walk around the lake.
A fun store with a lot of Colorado items to buy. We were able to fill up our water bottles at the bar for our hike.
Ate at the restaurant. They were out of several items. We had the bison chili. It was pretty good, but not much bison.
In light of the employment issues everyone seems to be having, they get a swish for the service. Didn't have the blueberry pie, but it looked great.
Lots of flies in the restaurant.
Either didn't have or wouldn't allow us to use indoor toilet. If they make you use a port-a-potty, they should be sure there hand sanitizer isn't empty.
Strikes me as a place that has been there forever and doesn't have much competition.

Makes me happy that places like this still exist. Friendly staff and tasty food. Check it out and slow down for a minute :-)
Great restaurant. The Grilled Chicken Salad has smoked chicken. They use real potatoes for their fries. Yum!
Very easy trail, good for benningers
Really great store operated for years. The staff is great and the selection is equally great. Prices are very fair - with the same things offered elsewhere for less than elsewhere.
Shame on the local government for not renewing the contract. What a disappointment that this great lodge is in its last season - and the location will be handed off to soulless Aramark or similar.
Political greed & corruption at its finest.
Awesome place decent food
