When we arrived, the waiting area was full and there were no employees to be seen. After waiting five minutes without an employee addressing us or the two parties that had been there before us without being acknowledged, I walked into the dining room and politely asked the staff member clearing a table if anyone was working the front. She replied that she would be with us in a moment. I thanked her and returned to the front.
This staff member did come to the front promptly and took the names of the waiting parties, advising it would be about a half hour wait. Unfortunately, she was clearly not happy about it.
There were four parties ahead of us and after they were seated, another staff member came out and sat us.
While waiting for our orders to be taken, the first staff member that put our name on the list came to stock silverware and napkins at our table and rudely accused us of seating ourselves.
If we weren't so hungry and hadn't already waited 40 minutes, we would have left.
Our server was polite, but not friendly. I will chalk that up to being so busy. It took more than ten minutes after being seated to take our orders.
The food we received was good. Unfortunately, they were out of several items, including the homemade cinnamon rolls they were advertising on an A frame when you walked in.
It is unacceptable to wait so long to even be greeted or addressed and treated so rudely when when asking for assistance. And the accusation that we sat ourselves after I had to seek her out to even be put on the wait list is mind boggling to me.
Needless to say, we will not return. This was our first and last visit.

I have to give it a C+ Review. They are known for their Cinnamon Rolls and upon arrival we asked about them and the girl said they had 1 left. I asked her to go back secure it for me. After sitting us she assured me it was saved. I again asked her about the Cinnamon Roll and again she told me she saved it. Only after bringing out breakfast did she disclose that someone else got it! Breakfast was good, but she was forgetful! One of our friends didn’t get her Eggs Either. Disappointed since we travelled a good distance!

Nice clean place with cozy vibes. Friendly service. The food however is mediocre at best. Pancakes were OK but my scrambled eggs were hard and bland. Overpriced for the food you get, would rather eat at home next time.
Mediocre food. Slow local vibe.

What a trainwreck. One girl handling pretty much all the service. Two other people doing god knows what. Chicken fried steak was fried to oblivion. Lived up here 10 years, saying this place has gone downhill just doesn't cover it.

Marion's is a tradition for us. We eat brunch there every time we head to Idaho Springs. It isn't fancy, but it's always excellent.

Came on a family trip. The salads and burgers are always great. My toddler is a picky eater but gobbled up a full chicken fried steak ( HOW I don't know) she liked it a lot. 4 people and the total bill was less than when we went to. Great value for an excellent meal.
Stopped in for breakfast on the way back to Denver from Vail. Great menu, awesome attitudes, loved the retro feel. I'm even sure the food would've been good, if it had ever arrived. Honestly I feel bad for these folks, I don't know what was going on this morning but it was chaotic and disorganized as can be. Can say the Bloody Mary was excellent....but we were there for over an hour, and when I finally asked about our food they brought us the wrong order. Came to find out that they hadn't even started our order yet, but promised us it would be out quick. Super sweet people but we weren't willing to wait any longer, so I asked for the check.
It was very nice of them to just comp everything we'd had up to that point, but it doesn't really make up for the disappointment or wasted time. I hope they get it together because that place has all the tools to rock
This is one of those restaurants that survives because there isn’t room on the street for another restaurant. Yes it’s been here forever. I suppose the locals are resigned to it.
Average food with very slow service. Do yourself a favor and fight the parking at the downtown cafes, this place is convenient but that’s about it.
Solid 2 stars across the board. Service wasn’t fast or attentive. Heard other tables having the same problems or different problems. A man came in after us and was helped first, ordered first, as well as a takeout order in the phone when we were sitting there ready to order. It wasn’t busy at the time. Food was okay. My gravy on my biscuits was room temp/cool and the sausage in it was cold. I liked my scrambled eggs. Orange juice came in a tiny cup for $4.50. It’s all a bit overpriced for being mediocre. Decor was still Easter at the end of June. Say they give a 10% cash discount. Wouldn’t go back.
