I live in Idaho Springs. This place is not great.

Stopped here for a bite following a day up in the mountains. We appreciated that they offered smaller pours of their brews in addition to the recs for their sandwiches. I had the fried tofu sandwich and it had lots of flavor. Definitely would come back for the fries!

Came in today, on my bday fromDenver. It’s a super nice day, and we heard great things about this place so we decided to make a day trip. We got there, went to the host to ask if we could have a spot outside because we had our dogs. We were told we couldn’t order at the bar, no food service outside, and had to order at the coffee shop. Cool, even though we couldn’t eat there, we still wanted to try the beer. So walked over to the coffee shop waited 8 min., two employees saw me waiting, walked right past me TWICE. One employee even washed his hands right next to me, not even a hello. I gave up and left. Highly unlikely we’ll ever be back.

Mixed review from our visit here. Service was very slow, while we sat at the bar. They were busy and it was hard to get someone's attention to order and pay. The beers were great and the wings were the best part of our visit. We enjoyed those very much. We also ordered the bleu cheese chicken sandwich, which we thought was ok. It could use a stronger flavored sauce or seasoning. But it was cooked well. I'd be open to trying this place again, hoping this was a one time occurrence with the service.

Had lunch on our way to Winter Park for a ski vacation. We were seated near the bar area and the atmosphere was cool with a view of the brewery tanks and piping. Started with AMERICAN PILSNER ABV, a Hot Toddy, and the kids had root beers. For lunch we had Westbound burgers, Buffalo chicken sandwich, and a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. All came with crispy fries. The food was delicious and drinks were tasty.

Our go to place in Idaho Springs. Today, a house porter, an impossible burger with a salad and a tofu katsu with a salad. All delicious. After snowshoeing above Echo Lake. When in the mountains, stop here for good food and beer!! Friendly staff. Comfortable bar seating.

My partner and I were visiting for a couple days from California and our Airbnb host recommended Westbound and Down. To say it was incredible was an understatement. We also had the best server, Jenae, who was kind, funny, attentive, has the best earrings and was absolutely killing it serving a huge section alone on a busy night. Also, one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. When I am craving a burger that is exactly what I'm dreaming of. The fries were also so crispy and delicious. Can't wait for our next trip to Idaho Springs.

First impression was not good with very rude waitress that seemed mad that we were there (party of 9). All of us in the service industry and I guess the standard is lower here than what we are used to. Pushy service with $4.50 for a damn fountain drink. WTF?! It's a Dr. Pepper, it costs you pennies to pour and serve. Anyway, food was decent, but the service will put you off completely. Save money, time, and nerves. Go somewhere, anywhere else that respects the customer and not out for the dollar.

A great mix of modern and old school mining town. It is really two atmospheres in one. The beers are great and the food is top notch. The burger is one of the top 5 I've had - yea, it is really that good. The folks that run the restaurant are down to earth and very welcoming. Fantastic place to stop for a drink or a whole meal. It is not to be missed when in Idaho Springs (or near it).

Love this place! We were on our way to Breckenridge and stopped to grab a beer and some food! The beer was amazing, the way Colorado beers always are, and the Tofu Kadzu sandwich was delectable! As vegan traveler, I'm always on the hunt for good vegan food! This place is a must!
