Cafe Mexicali Reviews
American Mexican food. The food is ok and the place is clean. My palate tends toward flavors of Mexican food found in New Mexico and Texas. These flavors are not that, these are more bland. I would eat there again but I would not pass a Mexican restaurant to get there.
The food is so good, you can tell it is made from scratch and not some prepackaged frozen thing microwaved and served to you. The creamy habanero sauce is a family favorite!
Great first time experience, we went for lunch with my 1 year old.
We had burritos and he had the kids quesadilla with beans and loved it. Very friendly and large portioned great tasting food.

Cafe Mexicali offers generously portioned, fresh food with a good variety on the menu. The habanero white sauce remains a standout favorite among customers. The food is fresh and flavorful, with high-quality ingredients that include tender proteins and crisp veggies. The rice is perfectly cooked, and the beans are hearty, making each bite burst with flavor, especially when paired with the house-made salsas. The guacamole is creamy and well-seasoned, adding an extra layer of deliciousness.
Despite some inconsistencies in service, the staff is friendly, and the management is dedicated to giving back to the community. Customers appreciate the quick service and find themselves craving meals like the green chile burrito long after leaving the restaurant. However, some recent reviews mention concerns about cleanliness, as there were issues with spills and unkept floors. While the atmosphere is nice and clean, and the margarita is a hit at just $7, some customers have noted that the prices can be high, with one plate costing $25.
