This place is an absolute joke! It was so insanely expensive! Did I say it was expensive!? Bring your bank account routing number! We paid $540 for 4 adults and 1 kid! We got 1 plate of food for all of us and what did that plate consist of? 4 strawberries 4 slices of bananas 4 pieces of cheese 3 pieces of thinly sliced steak and 3 pieces of chicken for 5 people to share! I would never recommend this place!

Absolutely trash. A scam trap
We first came here 20 years ago and on several ski trips since then. The night gondola ride is always a highlight for kids of all ages as you snuggle in the blankets provided. At the top, we were disappointed to learn of changes in the menu from the traditional raclette and fondue of years past. The waiter explained that guests didn’t understand how to work the raclette melting machine, so they eliminated it. Instead, kale salad to start which is a bummer if you hate kale, no substitutes. Choice of four different cheese combos for the next course with bread and veggies for dipping — best part of the meal due to the tasty cheese blends. The hot pot course offers a choice of broth and leans heavily on red meat, but includes chicken or shrimp. A tiny dab of raclette cheese appeared on a skillet of oily vegetables. Chocolate fondue dessert was disappointing because the chocolate never melted properly and congealed into a lumpy mess. By the time you add the cost of beverages and tip, figure over $100 per person. Way overpriced and I doubt we’ll be back. You can eat much better in that price range, even on a ski resort. Our group enjoyed the country band doing their best to play polkas and beer drinking songs. They should have stayed with the more traditional Swiss German format.
We had heard such good things, so when we booked our ski vacation, we made reservations three weeks ahead. The restaurant confirmed our reservation which by the way, charged us 10.00 a person to make! (We had 6 people, which cost us a total of $60.00, which we were told was a deposit, and would come off the bill when paying for our dinner. That was fine with us, we’ll do that to get a table at such a great place. However, a few days before our trip they emailed my husband and said our reservation was cancelled due to them CHOOSING to be closed that day and THEY NEVER GAVE US OUR MONEY BACK!!!! We called three times to get the runaround! I HAVE NEVER in my life been stolen from / scammed like this! STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY!
This is the first time I have ever left a 1 star review.... ever. Total and complete rip off. Food has no flavor... the most overpriced meal of my life and worst dining experience I can ever remember. Just so bad! Stay away at all costs.
This place is incredible!! Food was awesome and had great staff and vibe.
Our hopes were high when we brought our friends from out of town to dine at the top of Keystone Resort. We have dine it once previously, and had a positive experience. Unfortunately this time was nothing like the first. The service was terrible, the food was marginal, the explanations and cooking extraction were minimal and the cost was exorbitantly high. The only positive in this experience was the unique location and company of friends. We will not be spending our money there again.
Awesome fondue experience with live music you almost feel like your in Munich Germany. They definitely give you enough food to leave full. If you have not tried this place out you should. Great service and great food just expect to spend at least 3 hours from the gondola ride to cooking all the food.
Horrible service. Overpriced food. Crazy and unorganized. A complete mess DO NOT EAT HERE

We were visiting from Maine for Christmas and our family members from Keystone took us here. What an incredible place! The ride up the mountain in the Gondola was fun and cozy with the blankets provided. Once inside we grabbed a few drinks at the bar while waiting to be seated. The warm Gluwein was delicious and a nice treat by the fire. Dinner and of course dessert were amazing too!! This was one of our most favorite places we visited and we will definitely be back again!
We were really looking forward to this place but it was a HUGE disappointment. Especially considering how expensive it is! The food was subpar, the bar was so tiny I had better selection in a hotel mini bar. You have to take two gondola rides to get up there too so be prepared for that if you have small children. We spent more on this dinner than the amazing elegant Christmas Dinner we had at the Keystone Ranch House. If you want to throw away a lot of money then sure, book here. If you want good food, go absolutely anywhere else.
I don’t mind paying a premium for great food and a great experience. While taking a gondola to go to dinner on a mountain top is a unique experience, the food was mediocre at best. At $78 per person before drinks, I expected a high quality and tasty meal. What we got was far from that. For the cheese course - the bread was stale the, the soft pretzels were cold like they had been frozen, and the vegetables were not even close to fresh. The broccoli seems like it was frozen and had been thawed to be served cold with the cheese dip. Consequently, moisture from the broccoli ran across the plate and made the stale bread soggy. The main course was just okay. There wasn’t much flavor to anything and the beef was not a very good cut. You could pay $18 extra for filet, but I can’t imagine that would be much better. And since it was already $78 per person I would not think I should have to pay extra for quality meat. The same horrible broccoli was served with dinner, and not even cooking it in the supposedly seasoned broth made it any better. Overall nothing had much flavor. Even the honey mustard dipping sauce was not good. How do you mess up honey mustard? For desert we got the “turtle” fondue which is supposed to be caramel and dark chocolate. I couldn’t really discern any caramel in the mix at all, and the dark chocolate - well it tasted more like baking chocolate than good dark chocolate. I very rarely turn away from chocolate, but it really wasn’t pleasant so we barely ate any of it. I get that part of the price is for the experience, but they are charging way too much money to be serving such sub par food!
We have been going to Keystone Resort for over 30 years, our children learned how to ski here, my wife and I were taught how to ride snowboards here and Keystone has become almost legendary within our family as our children became adults and had their own children. We returned to Keystone the week before Christmas for all the above reasons, plus it was my birthday as well as my wife's birthday. Making a reservation for a family of six to ride up to the Outpost and enjoy the Fondue was an easy decision. We made the reservations a month in advance, received a "confirmed email message" and thought no more about it. You have to ride up to the Outpost on the Gondola, and as expected, the attendant at the bottom had our names on the list and we climbed aboard. The night was quite cold, but they give everyone blankets to keep warm. The ride up isn't fast, so we were numb by the time we got there, but we were also looking forward to enjoying the evening. Imagine our surprise when we got to the door and found a "we are closed sign" ! We walked next door to the Alpen Stube where the manager tried to convince us to eat there, and he explained that the Fondue staff had decided to close because there weren't enough people to make it worth their while. We came back down to River Run and had some pizza - not exactly the birthday dinner I had imagined I was going to receive. I wrote an email complaint and sent it to Keystone Resort Customer Service as soon as we got back, but did not receive a response for over a week. The response was not exciting, the manager of the fondue chessel suggested we talk on the phone. No apologies, no we are sorry, nothing. As I said earlier, we have been going to Keystone for over 30 years and it saddens me to have to write a lousy review like this - but others need to be aware that this kind of thing can happen. Should we have called to find out if everything was in order? Perhaps, but I have never had to do that anywhere else in the world. Your mileage may be better than mine, and I do freely admit that the food is very good - however - neither myself or my family will be returning to the fondue chessel again.
