Amazing breakfast and coffee! Breakfast sandwich was on point! Beautiful outdoor seating along the river with a fun play area for kids as well!

It’s not a full Keystone experience without getting a shot at Steep.

Awesome location with legendary tots and a staff that makes every visit an enjoyable time. Prices are fair for the base of a resort and the chicken sando will recharge your batteries after hitting Schoolmarm like the pro you are. Drinks are always on point and the staff once again is always going above and beyond.

Lots of good food options to choose from and they all pair well with Fireball. Vail Resorts might tout the “Epic Experience” but it’s Steep that really shows up for the locals. Good people, good food and beverage, good vibes.

Great beer and staff, i have no idea about the food. I’m thankful to have a taproom from a reputable local brewery steps from my little condo. I also love the mother ship on Hwy 6 five minutes walk away. Thanks Steep🙏

Edit: this trout was caught and released 25 ft from Steep today. Please release her if you’re lucky enough to fool her. The north fork from ABasin holds fish!

We have a residence in River Run and I walk my goldens very early in the morning. Despite Steep not being officially open, the employees are always friendly, cheerful, and occasionally give my golden retrievers a treat. Love having Steep in our neighborhood!

Really sad, a Steep pizza has been my favorite part of Keystone. Came back this year and no more pizza other then “by the slice” for way to much $$$. Three stars because beer and coffee are good. But big heartbreaker they do not sell whole pizzas anymore.

Coffee Roaster that doesn't serve espresso coffee after mid morning. Is that like MacDonalds switching from its breakfast menu mid morning also :)

Tattooed barista was extremely rude First time a was in I asked for directions to their other location. Without looking up she mumbled off instructions and seemed annoyed. Second visit, I started to order and she quickly cut me off said “we don’t serve matcha and our espresso machine is shut down for the day”. O for 2, great place lol

Great nitro cold brew and solid music playlist!

I first visited Steep when it opened a few years ago and found the pizza and beer to be mostly average. I considered giving it another try, hoping for improvement over time, but after reading recent reviews—particularly the business’s responses—I’ve decided it’s not a place worth my money. While its location in Keystone Village is prime and convenient, the management appears too rude to deserve our patronage at this time.

As a fellow bartender in Summit County, I wish we had the opportunity to review customers. I’ve been to Steep many times and it’s a very enjoyable place to grab a beer and some food while visiting Keystone. When I’m at a ski resort I expect prices to be high, and I certainly would never think to take food from one restaurant into another. I’m always treated well by the Steep staff and the food prices and quality is above par with the rest of the village. Steep is not owned by or affiliated with Vail in any respect, which makes it one of my favorite places to hang.

Working in the food / bartending / service business is not always a treat, as we often deal with rude (complaining about tipping), and entitled (bringing in outside food to another restaurant) customers - just like you see in the reviews below. Notice that all of them did something against policy, or they are complaining about leaving a tip . 🤔

Keep up the great work Steep, and be thankful that the few bad apples will never be back!

Espresso Martini at Steep River Run – A Near-Perfect Masterpiece

I've had a lot of espresso martinis in my time—some good, some bad, and some that tasted like someone accidentally dropped a coffee pod into a vodka bottle and called it a day. But let me tell you, the one at Steep River Run? Absolutely next level.

This isn't just another espresso martini; it's a new take on the classic, and somehow, they’ve managed to perfect it. The balance of espresso, sweetness, and just the right kick of booze is near flawless—smooth, bold, and rich without being overly sweet or bitter. It’s the kind of drink that makes you question why you’ve tolerated so many subpar versions elsewhere.

I’ve had espresso martinis from fancy bars to questionable airport lounges, and only rarely do I find one that I’d willingly order again. This? I’d happily come back for it. And no, it’s not just because this review gets me a free drink (though that’s a nice perk). It’s actually that good.

If you’re an espresso martini fan—or just want a damn good cocktail—get yourself to Steep River Run. 5 stars, hands down.

Oh my gosh!! Hands down the BEST espresso martini I have ever had! These are my go to cocktail everywhere I go, and this place brought it to whole new level! Dangerous! In the best way! Staff is super friendly and service is EXCELLENT!! If you are skiing keystone, you must stop in!

WARNING very devious establishment. Upon going to pay my tab I get hit with a mandatory 7% resort fee and mandatory 18% tip.

A $140 bill turned into $180

I was shocked then bartender tells me they have a piece of paper behind the bar stating the mandatory tip. But who reads every single piece of paper behind the bar (they had like 4) when they just get off the slopes and they are trying to order a drink with the place being packed.

Don’t go here they practice bad business

No espresso, don’t visit for coffee

High priced marginal fast food. The one in Keystone is like a McDonalds - you order at a counter, wait to pick up your food, then when done, buss the tables. Here is the kicker, they will then charge you an 18% mandatory tip for bills over $100. I would never have considered an 18% tip at Burger King. I tip generously, as I have family in the industry. But What did they do get a tip? We cleaned the table, as there was no place to eat, until we found napkins and then wiped the table clean, from the prior customers. We then got our waters, napkins, silverware, and then waited in line for our food. We picked up our food, and after we ate, returned the silverware, and threw away the paper products. All the same time, the person who took our order, stood behind the bar and looked at us. (Although he was friendly- and I do not want to disparage him.)
