Top Notch place staffed and owned by Top Notch people. You will not find a better Mountain breakfast brunch and lunch restaurant anywhere on the Front Range. Reasonable prices for the quality food and service. Beautiful setting next to Bear Creek. Does get busy especially when the weather is wonderful so plan accordingly. Definitely worth your wait however

The food was tasty, the staff was helpful and friendly, and like the location with the stream in the back.I got the chorizo benedict and buttermilk pancakes and both were very good. The next time I go there I'm going to get the same thing. The staff also checked in on me to ensure everything was ok and if I needed a refill on my coffee which was much appreciated.Note that I was there on a Monday in February so did not have to wait for a table or struggle with finding parking. But I can understand some of the other comments regarding during busier times the issue with parking and wait times...Can't wait to go back during warmer weather and sit outside by the stream....

Know that you have to go to a tent to check in. I went to one door, then another, then had someone redirect me back outside to a tent. At this point, people that parked after me already checked in. Put my name down for a 10 minute wait. After waiting close to 10 mins (and the other people being sat), someone else comes in and puts their name down. Then several minutes later, they get sat before me. Then another several more groups come in and put their names down, and they sit one of those parties before me. This was the third party that was sat before me although they arrived after me. I left. Disappointed as I traveled 30 minutes to try this place out.

Neat little place overall. Although "checking-in" in an outdoor tent and then sent back to the restaurant was a little odd, perhaps a little annoying? I think mostly because there wasn't a lot of clear guidance on where to go and then the entrance looks like you'd be entering into the kitchen rather than the restaurant itself. So we kept walking. We walked around the building looking for a more obvious entrance only to realize we walked past it. Anyway, on the inside there were different areas of seating that give off different vibes which is unique and fun. Beautiful outdoor views of wild life etc. The service was good but nothing special. On this particular day the initial table we were seated had an exceptionally loud group sitting behind us. It was very frustrating. We asked to be moved to another area far away. They were understanding. We were accommodated promptly and respectfully. The menu had a lot of appealing options it was hard to choose. Everything looked really good. The turkey melt seems like your standard club sandwich however it was 10/10 for me. Meaty, cheesy, deep savory smoky flavor. I wish it had been my meal. I ordered the bison burger. My girlfriend and I just finished a 2.5hr snowy hike that day. I wanted something with a heavy heaping amount of protein to refuel me up. It sounded better on paper to me. It was good but lacked flavor. Not enough green chili, maybe a table spoon of it present. With the bun on top it almost got lost altogether. It was a pretty expensive item but I was willing to take the risk because I was fiercely hungry. It was okay. It just didn't hit the mark for me. The sweet potato fries though 1000/10, I'd order a bucket of those. Would come back when passing through again.

Cute brunch spot with beautiful view. Foods and services were excellent. I got Kittredge Florentine. The eggs was runny with some part gooey. The hollandaise sauce was buttery and creamy. It was delicious.Tammy was taking care of us. She was wonderful and super friendly.We will definitely come back!

We received great service at Blackbird Cafe from our waiter Austyn! I definitely enjoyed the food here as well as the french toast was a perfect level of sweetness If you love cheeses scrambled eggs, you HAVE to order those! I usually like my bacon slightly crispy which is what I expressed to the waiter and the cook was spot on when they made it! They had a variety of options when it came to toast/english muffins (no white bread though). My biggest feedback is I wish they had sugar free syrup! My boyfriend can't have regular syrup so he was unable to use. We went on a weekday early morning and it was not crowded at all; so no wait time! The parking is very unique, there is not an actually parking lot or many spaces at that so I do recommend going during low hours. My favorite part was definitely the view from inside the restaurant. It is a beautiful scenery of the wilderness right outside! I'm sure during the fall and spring it's even more beautiful than when we went (end of December)
