Haili is hands down the BEST barista in all of LJ! She not only memorizes you order, but she also make the small talk that we all love. Thanks for sucking!

I come here explicitly because of Haleigh. Haleigh has taken the time to get to know me and inquire about different tastes. I never have been a coffee person, and Haleigh has introduced me to all different types of drinks, flavors and blends and has even gone out of her way to add protein to my drinks at my request. Haleigh has not only changed my view on coffee, but she has also been an amazing friend. I highly recommend her as a barista.

This shop has always had great staff and very consistent staff same people for years. Yesterday was definitely not my day but I got my frappe and trying to leave i got stuck in the snow the one girl who works her dropped everything and came to help with a guy no one else cared to help people never door watched my struggle. Luckily they got me out in the process the girl had slipped on the ice got soaking wet I felt bad but she stopped shoveling went in.
I'd just like to say I appreciate the girl for not just watching me struggle and giving a helping hand. Love coming in here never have to give my order because I've noticed she remembers EVERYONE order off top her head. She's fast and very caring. Thank you to the owners for having such a good staff she is there day in day out.
Will be back like always best coffee frappe in town.

Had to stop in been coming for years. Few things changed but one barista is still there after all this time. She remembers my drink and had a good conversation definitely worth the stop if you want to feel at home and comfortable. I sat for a while and enjoyed my time with the classic old music. I truly hope the new people treat /pay the girl working well because shes been there a long time and runs back and forth to make everyone feel at ease and taken care of no matter the business. Will be back favorite place to stop and they also have homemade goods now with a few breakfast choices.

My train was held an hour at La Junta waiting on a crew change, so I wandered into town to stretch my legs and seek out a latte. The barista at The Barista was friendly, made me feel welcome upon entering, and conversational. She readily honored my request for breve style (made with half and half instead of milk), a request that frequently elicits blank stares at other independent coffee shops. They have an extensive list of syrups from which I chose raspberry. She used just the right amount to where it was not overpowering. They also have mugs for dine-in orders; I can’t take a coffee shop seriously if they only have paper and no china. Unfortunately, I did not have much time and had to get a disposable cup. The coffee cake pastry was fresh. They have a well-stocked bookshelf with an eclectic mix of local history, state history, and outdoor-related reads. Most chairs are hard but there is a small cushioned sofa which will be appreciated by those with a bad back or sciatica. My visit made me happy and I welcome the chance to return on a more relaxed timeframe so that I can linger and indulge in some of the other flavors.

Great atmosphere, kitchen is currently closed but i got a chocolate muffin and it was great! Got an iced hazelnut breve, could’ve been richer but still pretty solid for their prices especially! Got the 20 oz coffee and chocolate muffin for $10. Friendly service, would come back!

EDIT:
I came back the next day and owner was more than happy to accommodate and experiment to find the best combo to make the drink richer! She made two test drinks for me to try with different combos and we found the combo! All we needed was one less espresso shot and 1 or 2 more pumps of hazelnut! She even offered to not charge me for the drink but they value the quality of their drinks and their customers happiness so of course they deserve paying customers <3

I got a latte. It is one of the better ones I've ever had. They were not busy when I went. They were quick in making it. The prices are quite reasonable.
