We have a cabin in Cuchara and have eaten at this restaurant several times before and the atmosphere was lovely in the old location. However, it is rather dismal now. And even though the food is pretty good, the people are less than friendly. I had visitors that just drove in from Denver and we arrived 15 minutes prior to the closing time and were rudely turned away by a young kid who claimed that they were out of food and all of their milks, but that we should come back at 5 o’clock. I find that comment rather interesting, as if in a matter of three hours, more food would suddenly appear! They would have to go to Charlie’s Market which would demonstrate pretty poor planning and simply bad business practices. And why would we want to wait three hours for an experience so uneventful and in the company of such rude hosts? After reading some of the horrible reviews about Legends, I’m not sure the owners care about what people think about their restaurant. We all know that the valley depends on tourism and is very seasonal so it is quite surprising that they care so little about their customers and apparently their own well-being.

We are SO glad that we decided to stop here and eat. The staff was wonderful, the atmosphere was so welcoming, sparkling clean and the food was DEEE-LI-CIOUS (like better than in Santa Fe and Taos)!!! Thank you!!!!!

If you’ve ever ordered vegan food at a cafe or restaurant. You know it is usually just the regular menu that they leave half the ingredients off. Not here! This might be the best vegan burrito I’ve ever eaten.
Great service, and the deck is dog friendly.
Thanks for being here, Legends!

Food is alright, Prices are high, They do not let dogs on their patio which to me is a little crazy but everyone has their rules. I am a local but will never be back.UPDATE- maybe i was just denied being on the patio since this response says dogs are allowed.

Excellent breakfast and service. Pet friendly. They have a very nice and clean covered outdoor area.

My initial impression wasn't good. Not very friendly, and the music was too loud!
That changed with my first sip of coffee. Some of the best I have had! Smooth and rich with zero acid.
We all ordered the breakfast burrito with green chile. Magnificent! The potatoes were cooked perfectly and the ham was delicious. All of us cleaned our plates. I would like a little more chile on mine.
They kept our coffee filled and hot, too!

It was so good we went back the next day for cinnamon rolls. Wow! A pastry dough rolled and baked in a muffin tin so it rises. Beautiful! Not too sweet, nice amount of cinnamon, and done all the way through.

I highly recommend this place!

The coffee was smooth and rich. Our table ordered huevos rancheros, walker breakfast burrito, avocado toast, French toast, and Eggs your way. All of the food was fresh and cooked perfectly. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better breakfast to finish out our vacation.

Outstanding green chili on the burrito , the flavors were delicious. The quesadilla was huge and very good as well . We also enjoyed the choice of background music and the overall atmosphere . Glad to be a local so that we may return soon.

The food was really good. Coffee/ drink selection was good. The young lady who was there was super nice and helpful. The gentleman seemed as though he wasn't having a great day.
