Missed out on the Sold out Cajun egg rolls and Philly cheese steak egg rolls. Chicken fried steak was fork tender as was the light crust. Collards had that I want another bite king of flavor. Mashed potatoes went to another level of Greatness. Chef made Blueberry cobbler with scoop of whip cream was the finish line. Wait staff were extraordinary with attention on the customer experience.

We stopped in while exploring Lake City as there aren't too many options in town. They have an expansive patio with great views of town and the mountains. We ate here for lunch and everything everyone had was fantastic! The chicken tenders were seriously life-changing, they were so juicy, yet crispy and the batter had phenomenal flavor! These were some of the best tendies I've ever had and you get 6 of them for less than $10.Apparently everything is made in-house except for the fries and buns. We spoke to the owner/manager and he was really friendly. The servers were incredibly kind and super helpful, some of the best service we received out of all the spots we visited in Lake City, Creede, etc.The food here is outstanding, the people are kind, and I'd def recommend everyone to stop in and grab a bite!

On my short list of must-go places to eat in Lake City! The coffee is perfect and I loved the breakfast options in the morning, then went back for dinner for amazing chicken and waffles! All this coupled with some of the friendliest staff you’ll run into make Lake City Cafe the best!

My wife and I were looking for a good meal and a beer on a Wednesday afternoon right in the middle of July. There are not many choices for restaurants in Lake City, but we thought that the Lake City Cafe looked appealing. They were very busy, so we decided to eat at the bar. We sat down and said hello to a very nice man with a grey beard and coveralls who was at the bar….it turns out that he was the manager or owner. We sat for about five minutes as the wait staff were bringing meals to those seated, and those at the bar. No one said a word to us, but we chalked it up the the busyness. A waitress asked if we wanted menus, and we said yes as she hurried away without giving us one. Another five minutes, no menus or offers for drinks. My wife walked to the end of the bar and grabbed a menu. We read the menu, and sat for another ten minutes. Wait staff looked at us but never said a word. 3 people at the bar finished their meals. The gentleman in the coveralls whom we had sat next to over twenty-five minutes before, walked back and forth between the bar and the kitchen and said nothing. It was at or about the thirty minute mark that we looked at each other and confirmed that this was really happening. So we left.*On a positive note. The food looked and smelled amazing!

Great food. Service very friendly. As good a Chicken fried steak as you will find anywhere. The Egg rolls are incredible also. Ask for the green beans as they are also simply wonderful. Chicken sandwich off the charts. Great place, Drew runs a good show!

Fantastic service and the food was delicious. The Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were interesting and tasted great. I have the chicken fried steak with green beans everything was freshly prepared. There were options to sit inside or out on the patio but since it was warm that day we opted for the AC indoors.

Food was very good. Very happy with everything we got. We ate there twice in one day. Got there late for lunch and they still let us in and then we came in late off the loop that same night, seen they was still open so that is where we stopped. We were the last customers in again. They were very friendly, and food was yummy. I highly recommend the grits and the philly cheese steak eggrolls.

One of the best Chicken Fried Steaks i have EVER had, and i was born and raised in West Texas. Everything was homemade, and tasted amazing. They also had, without a shadow of a doubt, the best mac and cheese me and my wife had ever had. If you are going to Lake City, or anywhere within 100 miles, you HAVE to try this place out.The owner was a very nice and kind person as well. He took the time to introduce himself, congradulated us on our wedding, and then left us to enjoy our meal. 10/10.

THE PRICES ARE EXTREMELY HIGH AND THEN THEY RIP YOU OFF ON A SO CALLED TAX. We camped in Lake City and went to Lake City Cafe for coffee and breakfast. The owner charged us 33.4% tax. The sales tax according to the city is 6-7.1%.Find a better option.

Stayed at the Moose Track Shack - great owner, great to be just outside of town and wk the trail to town. Cafes are all good - Lake City Cafe, Begging for Bagels, Southern Vittles and more. Excellent river walking trails, Lake San Cristobal and Deer Lake, great hikes - and 5 14ers nearby if you're up for that! Art, shall shops...Russ Brown gallery, Bluebird, Kennedy Dry goods and more. Took a fused glass class at the museum. All great! Have been here several summers and will keep coming back.

Friendly place! Greated by name by the sheriff when we walked in (not our names, unfortunately:) ). Heard some grumbling in the kitchen (we walked in 15 minutes before they closed for the afternoon at 2pm), but food was amazing. Absolutely would stop there again.

The chicken fried steaks are THE BEST! Blueberry cobbler was good, too! Very friendly staff. The owner even came out to check on us.

We found this place by word of mouth, since we were just spending a night in Lake City, and out of season. Very good food here, a step above the usual diner or food service food. BBQ was excellent and perfectly prepared, with a nice, toasted brioche bun. It's said to be smoked on the premises. Chicken & gravy was very good. Reasonable prices, too. With craft beers on tap, and a coffee shop adjacent to the cafe, they have everything a traveler needs.
