Sadly, I was really disappointed. I was hoping to find a new go-to spot for Mexican takeout. I’ve been here numerous times before, but it’s been several years, and usually just for breakfast burritos—which have always been good.

Tonight was a different story. I ordered a carne asada quesadilla because I didn’t want anything too heavy. I was surprised it didn’t come with any sides like guacamole or sour cream—just hot sauce. The quesadilla was packed with meat, but it was flavorless and a bit dry.

I also ordered sides of rice, beans, and guacamole. The rice and beans were good, but the guacamole was honestly the strangest I’ve ever seen. It was a very light green, thin (almost watery), with chopped tomatoes mixed in, and it lacked flavor. It didn’t taste fresh or authentic, and I couldn’t help but wonder if sour cream had been added to stretch it.

The total came to $32 with a generous tip, and I wouldn’t have minded paying that if the food had been flavorful. What I found particularly strange was that after I ordered and went to pay, the man behind the counter asked, “Are you going to pay that?” I said, “Excuse me?” and he repeated himself, adding, “People complain about the prices.” I responded, “If it’s good, I’m willing to pay for it. It’s basically home cooking.”

Unfortunately, it wasn’t and it just didn’t deliver. Very sad experience.

This place has been here since I was i. High school and I don't know how long before that. But I can say the food hasn't changed 1 bit and is as good as I remember ! Highly recommend if you are in the area. Portions are large so come hungry !

I've only tried a few things from this place- but so far so good. Their spicy chicken chimi & their carnitas burrito has been the highlight. The only knock I can give them is that they don't have ANY Green Chile whatsoever. Obviously that is a Mexican Food staple, so IMO it's just a total bummer & a giant missed opportunity!

Love their burritos. Chicken breast burrito is my favorite one. The chicken is fresh and juicy. I also like the tortilla, it tastes super fresh. The size of burrito is more than enough for one person.

I will never come back here. $18.85 for Adobada fries is ridiculous. On top of being way more expensive than it was last time I came (less than a year ago), it also does not taste anywhere near as good as it did when it was like $11-12.

That makes it an easy choice to say I will never return here again. Sad to say, because I used to live a few blocks away and I would eat here several times a week back then.

Went through drive thru got shredded burrito. Got home and when I ate half of it I got this piece of plastic in my burrito. I hope I didn’t swallow any already. Tried calling them to let them know to not serve someone else but just rings

It's a classic. My fish taco was killer. New taco Tuesday destination for sure.

This is the only place in all of Lakewood to get your taco fix. Please don't waste your hard earned money anywhere. I have been coming here to this same location for over 20 years. The super nachos is the best I also love the tostada and campana burrito.

I would say this is a San Diego style burrito shop. Big heavy burritos with lots of protein. A true carne asada burrito should have three ingredients. Carne asada, guacamole, pico de gallo.
That's it.
They do it right
