Apologies this review is so late, I got married in July 2025 at Red Rocks and we wanted a simple 2 tiered cake reflective of Red Rocks. I believe the baker's name was Sarah, who was very kind and professional for each call and visit to the store. The consultation was quick and easy, sample portions are big and affordable. We showed a few inspiration photos for the cake but also gave free reign for her to be creative (and keep it simple). We absolutely loved our cake and it was so delicious! (The cake toppers were not provided by the bakery**) The cost for the cake and delivery were well below several other bakeries in the area and overall we were extremely pleased with our experience and cake.

Made an order for rainbow colored cup cakes in mid July for an August pick up. Came to pick up the order and they look nothing even close to what the picture I sent them does. How do you get pink green and purple out of a rainbow colored spectrum? The cake decorator must not even been paying attention to the orders or they just don’t care. I got my money refunded for the order but how is that going to make the birthday surprise enjoyable. It’s like …. Surprise!! I got you what you didn’t ask for. I feel extremely unheard and let down. This will be the last time I ask for a cake or make an order with this company. Photos for reference

I consider myself a pretty savvy baker and dessert aficionado, and I can honestly say these cakes are second to none! Best cake I have ever had! To my fellow Southerners, hear me when I say this, but these are better than Publix Bakery! Service is phenomenal and the turnaround time is less than a day! If you order before the delivery person makes their routes, you can get them in the same day. If you want to treat yourself or someone you love, get you one! I highly recommend!!
Best cake ever! My wife bought it for my 65th. birthday party with 20 close friends. She says that service was great but shop was outdated.

I called and I ordered a cake. I've never did this. This is the first time I ever did this and I called Karen's cakes. I ordered the cake. The person that helped me was very nice. I messed up a letter on the cake. I don't need it until Saturday, so I'm calling 2 to 3 days ahead. I let the lady know. What happened? She then says let me put Karen on the phone. Karen, the owner gets on the phone I said good morning to her. I told her what the situation was, and first thing comes out of her mouth is. Who are you? I then told her. I am a customer that ordered a cake from you like. She was so rude and Jis didn't want to help me. Didn't make me feel comfortable with getting an. Edible from you that goes inside of my body, the way she talked. I would never recommend this cake store ever again.

Cakes by Karen went out of their way to fix a little problem. I went to pick up a small wedding cake for a Colorado celebration and the roses were missing. The cake was already absolutely gorgeous but I felt that the roses were needed. The counter person called and had the designer bring down roses the next morning to put on the cake. What a beautiful small wedding cake. The shop really made it right for me. Thank you to everyone who was part of this little cake.
