I ordered their Spicy Fish Sandwich/fries. I substituted Maui Onion Rings in place of the fries for $2 extra. Onion rings had good taste but were very greasy. The sandwich was inedible. A thick, dry, stale bun, frozen fishsticks, burnt cheese, and dry slaw. It was disgusting. For a total of just under $17 paid…don’t do it!

The staff was friendly and attentive. Not the cleanest restaurant but not anything major enough to complain about. We got 3 different types if tacos- fish, chicken, pork. The fish was the worst lol. It's described on the menu as lightly breaded but both my fish tacos had just as much fish as breading, plus the fish was kinda dry. The chicken was very dry and flavorless. The pork was actually pretty fire though. Most restaurants give complimentary chips and salsa when dining in but it was $3.50 here to have that before a meal. So that Plus 7 tacos came out to $50 before a tip. No drinks. Was mostly a disappointing experience.

I had a couple of different fish tacos which were outstanding. The helpfulness of the staff, especially for a busy place, was outstanding. From the person who took my order and helped with the recommendation to the guy who cheerily delivered the food to the table and checked in later to see how everything tasted, the staff is unparalleled. Kudos, friends.
My only slightly negative comment is that one of the tacos was supposed to be spicy and the cashier told me it was a four on a scale of one to 10. (I specifically asked because I was nervous about getting something too hot .) I think it was more like a one or two. That should not reflect negatively on the food or the service. I think it’s just differing opinions on spiciness.

When you learn that your child has autism your biggest fear as a parent is that the only safe space for them will be your own home. That no one else will see them for the amazing person they are and only see what is different about them. Luckily for my family and my son, we have Wahoo’s Lakewood close to our home. I have never seen a restaurant where every single staff member is so compassionate, understanding and kind. The staff led by Evelyn engages with my son every time we go. (which is at least 1-2 a week). They say hello to him every time, ask him about his toys and treat him like he matters. Side Note: They have also held onto several toys for us when we forget them :) Thanks again Evelyn! We enjoy the food at Wahoos Lakewood for sure. But the food is nothing compared to how amazing the staff have made us feel every single time we go. They see my son for who he is and they welcome him every time. My son loves “The Orange Restaurant” as he calls it and asks to go every Friday. My family will always be indebted to the amazing people who work at Wahoos Lakewood. You have created another safe space for my son. Thank you for being such amazing people. We love you guys!

Portions are good. Quality is good. A bit overwhelmed by the menu having Mexican, Hawaiian, and Cajun items.

Wahoos used to be one of the real joys in life. Then they closed the 20th and Tremont location. And my go to, a #2 taco combo plate with grilled Wahoo fish, has gone from $10 to $18 in the last 5 years. I know inflation isn’t THAT bad. (They charge extra for non crispy fish at a fish taco place now????) Still delicious and great vibes though.

I love wahoos- the green sauce is to die for. The reason I’m writing this review is for the staff! Even during a quick visit I felt valued as a customer and a person! They were so friendly.
