This place used to be good about a year ago, and it is awful now so I have gone 2 times in the last couple of months and they were both a joke, the time a couple of months ago we order some sushi and they gave us bad yellow tail, I and I told who I was with that it looked very brown and very hard, and I told him not to put it in his mouth, and immediately spit it out and the rolls they make are very sloppily put together and the rolls are very loose and the middles fell out of them I told the staff how poor it was and that we received bad fish this was on a Friday night,

we went today because I thought it would be better this time as it was a Monday afternoon it was not it was pretty much worse !!!! We went in at like 2:30 and we were the only people there at this time. We order our food and our waiter was non existent! He barley came to check on us and when he did he came and left so fast I could not even ask for a soda, when the food came it came out in an old wooden boat was splintering so i am not sure that it is safe to eat food of, I moved some of the fish more to the middle as to make my self feel better about eating our rolls that again were very sloppily put together and they were spilling out, I go to eat a piece of nigiri and I bit into a fish bone, at this point I was done and I felt that the food was un safe to eat, I literally started crying on the restaurant I was so upset we told the waiter he did nothing and I said I just want to leave and we did, I don’t know if they got a new staff, but the service and the food is horrible and I will never be going back I should have fought to get my money back, but I was to upset and wanted to leave, there are better places to go like Leezakaya in Aurora and shiso sushi & oyster bar in Edgewater, I do not suggest eating here . . .

I think this restaurant is haunted. I seen something really Erie in the restroom and it was very unsettling.

Meh. Nice location, but food could have been better. Chicken Katsu was overcooked and dry. Rice was also dry.

Not sure if it was the norovirus or low grade tuna from the poke boat but I became very ill within an hour or two of leaving the restaurant.

We got deep fried sushi, Broncos and Shogun. It was oksh. The deep frying dough was very thick, too much rice and the shrimp and other ingredients weren't very good. I don't think it was worth the price $17+ for a roll. The place is in a good location and the service was ok.

Really disappointed in our experience and lack of response from Wasabi (a place we used to love to frequent). My partner and I got the worst food poisoning we’ve ever experienced two weeks ago. Given that we we used to love this place I tried to resolve this complaint directly with Wasabi but received zero response. What has happened to customer service these days? Don’t eat here unless you want to shit and puke your brains out for hours!!! What a delight!

We stopped in for lunch today- after inquiring about our order after a 45 minute wait we received our gyoza only. After an hour we asked if the remainder of our food was coming and he said he had no idea, that he had been asking about it for a while. Everyone around us got their food and left before we were even served. We left because they were not able to give a timeline for when we would receive our order. It was a terrible experience all around.

Food was pretty good. I had the chicken teriyaki bento box and it was really good. The sushi was good as well. Very quick service.

Writing this review after either going in or ordering delivery 4 times combined. They miss the mark on the pork buns every time. The flavour is good, but they skimp out on the protein every time. My ordered looked so lacking yesterday. Don't serve it at all if it's going to look like this.

9/29/24 Sun. Had dinner tonight with my teenage grandsons. Food was mediocre, presentation bland, service less than adequate. Food came out in odd stages. Some of it was luke warm, part of sushi and rice soggy, had to ask for water and when my order would be coming. Very dissatisfied. It used to be good. Overpriced poor quality, poor service. Won’t be returning. Staff just seemed annoyed!

Have gotten sushi here 2 or 3 times, years apart, and it's been disappointing each time, especially when it tends to be more expensive than average. Out of the 12 or so rolls I have tried, the spicy scallop volcano is the only good one - the rest have been bland and not worthwhile. Service is good, and the building architecture is really interesting, with saltwater tanks inside with lots of neat fish, and there is nice shaded outdoor seating. My friends seem to have had better luck with the bento and ramen options, but go elsewhere for sushi. Might give the place another try in a year or two.

Absolutely amazing Sushi! I love Belmar and the option of outside seating, so many options, I would definitely recommend to anyone!

Easy spot for sushi. Decent prices. Good food but nothing to write home about. I'd go back.
