We traveled from Rocky Ford to see if the new owners were an improvement. I ordered the $20 Chicken fried steak and it was the size of a 1/4 hamburger covered in batter. It came with non home made mashed potatoes and canned peas and corn. The salad bar still had remnants from the lunch crowd spillage. If you want to know what a chicken fried steak is supposed to be try Boss Hogs in LaJunta or the Tamarack in Fowler. Both are 3X as big and cheaper.

Cook was rude he was hateful because I asked if it was frozen or fresh he talked to the waitress like she was a dog. The food was not even cooked I had the worst chicken fried steak I have ever tried to eat. They did have good sweet tea.

This place should have been bulldozed a few decades ago.
It's been about 2 years since I tried the place 'one last time' and at that time it was still dirty, rude waitress, lukewarm food. Wondering if it is under new management since then. It would be nice to have a good truck stop restaurant in town.
