My family of four stopped at Tavern 1301 in Lamar on our way to Texas for Thanksgiving break. We had an excellent server, Mrs. Tammy, who made some wonderful recommendations. We had the pork chop that was absolutely mouthwatering delicious. Walnuts, cranberries and a very light sauce topped a thick bone in pork chop. The combination made every bite magical!!! Yum!!! We also had the butter squash enchiladas that was equally as delicious and a must to try!! Kids had the bone in wings with a delicious homemade blue cheese dressing and chicken Alfredo. Ate it all!!! Omg… the desserts … just as outstanding! The cream brûlée and brownie and ice cream…. Didn’t last long at our table! Thanks Tavern 1301 in Lamar, Co, you are a must stop for any person to enjoy great food!
I ordered the surf and turf with a loaded baked potato and a side salad, along with a house margarita — and everything was absolutely spot on! The steak was so tender and perfectly cooked that I barely needed a knife to cut it. What made it even better is knowing the beef comes from local farmers and ranchers in the area — you can truly taste the quality.
The house margarita was to die for — handmade with no premixes, smooth, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. The atmosphere was clean, welcoming, and carried just the right touch of romance, making it a great spot for both a casual night out or a more intimate dinner.
Overall, Tavern 1301 exceeded my expectations. Fantastic food, great drinks, and a warm environment. Definitely a solid 5 out of 5 — highly recommend!

Worst filet I've ever had dry as could be and absolutely no flavor. Manager was told and never said anything, apologized or gave a shit. Service was great management and food was shit!

Sit at the bar. Besides the perfect old-fashioned, you’ll get great recommendations for their snacks. I like this place. The bartender is a love. Ask for Emily if you stop by.

Was a great place. Nice atmosphere, excellent food, and service was amazing. Don’t miss out
Our group of 28 from the Denver Metro area loved our dinner at Tavern 1301! The manager sat us all in the same area and our waitress Krisha took excellent and patient good care of us. Our dinners and drinks were delicious. I had their dinner & drink specials that night - a fancy watermelon cosmo & perfectly prepared salmon with a spicy mango sauce - very tasty!
Loved the dining setting inside the historic Cow Palace hotel in its atrium filled with plants and near their pool. Very unique place! Highly recommend!

This was our 2nd time here and it was just as amazing. I had the Black Goat salad with shrimp. Quite possibly my favorite salad ever. Hubby had the porkchop which was fantastic. Great service too.

Server came out with an unfriendly vibe, got my salad and didn’t have any silverware or croutons, got my steak and fries and steak was a ny strip when I ordered a ribeye and was raw, server didn’t check on me had to ask another server walking around and didn’t get my second beer till I was basically done with the food they gave me asked for a short and they gave me a tall when they were out of coors banquet somehow. Asked for a discount and originally only gave me 7 dollars off and I had to bargain with them to get it down to at least a payable price for the crap I had to go through. Very unprofessional wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

I needed a place to eat lunch and asked a local business their recommendation. They recommended a Mexican place but I was in the mood for a burger and I am happy I chose the Tavern!
Great burger, outstanding sweet potato fries, service and atmosphere.
The hotel it is in is very cool also!

I ordered the brisket fajitas. It was overcooked and very dried out, plus extremely salty. There was so much salt, the salt content limited how much I could eat of it. The best part of my supper was the ice tea. Their ice tea is real good.

Our out of town guests and we ordered steaks on Monday night.
We all wanted rare or med rare! Our steaks came out almost burnt. Way over cooked. The vegetable medley was partially raw and tasteless..
Very bad food for $150.00 for the 4 of us!
Had the same thing happened a couple months ago when we were there for the prime rib. Wanted rare and got well done!
