Unexpected gem in the middle of nowhere. Interior is beautiful, and the scratch made food was delicious. Tami was super friendly, prompt, and did a great job sharing tidbits about the history of the building, and the home made menu items. Made me want to come back to Lamar one day xo

Me and my friends went there on December 19th 2025 I tried the fried motz appetizer (fantastic) my steak was ordered medium was cooked to perfection. The scenery was amazing loved the greenery. Our server Clarissa was a delight with her sparkly personality that matched her sparkly eyes, she had very good knowledge and was very attentive and on top of everything. We will return not only for the food but for the wonderful service provided by Clarissa.

This place had amazing food and Sevice. I got the Ribeye, side salad and loaded baked potato. It was delicious! Don’t skip out on the brownie dessert.

We stopped for lunch on our way through Lamar. The bar was pretty busy, but Cierra was a wonderful bartender, and took our orders and kept our drinks full!! The Tavern 1301 is always a great place for a casual lunch or a nice dinner!! We'll see you again!!

It was disappointing to not find any VEGAN options other than lettuce.
After a running back and forth to the kitchen to find everything vegetarian pre-made, my salad was forgotten.
I had to beg our server for it. I was with my peers and it was totally embarrassing.
I should have not eaten at all.

We had Shawna as our waitress yesterday for lunch. She was great! Drinks never ran dry and she checked in often to make sure all was good.

Stopped here for lunch. I had not been here since they reopened. I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices for lunch. We sat in the courtyard. The service was amazing! Our drinks were constantly filled. My brother had the unlimited soup, salad, and bread. She did a great job of keeping that filled also. The fries were great and the burger was yummy! Win win!

Was a great meal with some of the best service I have had in years. Prices seemed about 10% too high for what you got. Was it a $36 steak? No, but I would have paid $30 or $32 for it. Same with the app, and salad. Just seemed about 10% too high for what you got. Everything tasted great and was cooked well!

My family of four stopped at Tavern 1301 in Lamar on our way to Texas for Thanksgiving break. We had an excellent server, Mrs. Tammy, who made some wonderful recommendations. We had the pork chop that was absolutely mouthwatering delicious. Walnuts, cranberries and a very light sauce topped a thick bone in pork chop. The combination made every bite magical!!! Yum!!! We also had the butter squash enchiladas that was equally as delicious and a must to try!! Kids had the bone in wings with a delicious homemade blue cheese dressing and chicken Alfredo. Ate it all!!! Omg… the desserts … just as outstanding! The cream brûlée and brownie and ice cream…. Didn’t last long at our table! Thanks Tavern 1301 in Lamar, Co, you are a must stop for any person to enjoy great food!
Tavern 1301 is the complete package. The bar area is especially great, though I’m not a fan of their atrium; however, it is a great spot to converse if your meal has a purpose, but I prefer the bar areas as I’m a big sports fan. The burgers here are always above and beyond and cooked perfectly (I order medium but they will ask how you prefer it cooked). Pictured here is the John Wayne Returns burger, and I had the Carnivore burger the night before - both were excellent. The sweet potato fries are some of the best I’ve had, and their homemade ranch is definitely top 3 as well. They offer a blackberry balsamic dressing that is amazing too. I’d prefer if they were able to drain the seeds from it, but it’s got amazing flavor nonetheless. The desert options here are great, though I personally prefer the crème brûlée - perfect every time. Ultimately, this place is great, would definitely recommend!
