Tommy prepared a beautiful and delicious double layer spice cake with cream cheese filling and frosting, and filligree stuff around the edges in colours I'd suggested which he nailed. Twas for my wife's 70th birthday party, and the cake was the star of the show. Tommy transferred a photograph of my wife which I'd emailed to him, on the cake, perfect rendition! In fact, the photo was so perfect we ate around the edges of the cake and never touched my wife's face!! Thank you Tommy, and the entire crew of Cakes Amore!!

I've used this bakery so many times from weddings, birthdays, baby showers etc. However, that was with the original owners, and sad to say my recent visit was underwhelming. Cupcakes are smaller than they used to be and aren't as good as before. Unfortunately, I won't be back.

I have been coming here for years, and the staff always does amazing work. Today, the new owners outdid themselves! I asked if a particular cake was in the case ready to purchase for today or tomorrow, but it wasn't. They went ahead and made the cake anyway, ready to be picked up in a few hours, despite it being graduation and wedding season. Last week they also made me a cupcake that the customer in front of me bought the last of. I am beyond impressed with this place, and highly recommend it to everyone!

Store is clean and the folks who work there are really friendly. The quality of the cake was good and well decorated. Partly, our problem with the cake was miscommunication on our part. We thought we were getting a small two-tier cake because that's what was in the picture we were shown. The frosting didn't taste like the buttercream we're used to - very sugary - side by side, I probably couldn't tell which was a Cakes Amore buttercream frosting and which was a standard sheet-cake oil-based frosting. We were expecting the filling to be like buttercream mixed with fruit - what we got was basically pie-filling that was still frozen! I hate writing bad reviews because I like supporting small local business (our family's lived in this area for almost 50 years) I know the store could do better with some tweaks.

I ordered two cakes from Cakes Amore for my grandson's birthday. Both cakes were extremely dry and the "butter cream" frosting was hard and too sweet. The frosting was thick-hard like cement and didn't stick to the cakes - everyone separated the frosting from the cake after about two bites. The cakes were so gross that no one ate a second piece for the entire weekend. We literally wasted $100 for two small cakes.
