Second time at the restaurant. 1st time was much better, hence the repeat reservation. Unfortunately this time around, meat was overcooked, salad was over dressed. Very little follow up by the server. Host was very unfriendly. Not worth going back.
Food was very marginal. I ordered a $45 filet and it was so thin that there was no way you could call it a filet or cook it to medium rare. $45 was for a piece of meat only!!! Not even a small scoop of mashed potatoes?? We ordered the bread basket (for a cost) and the bread was very dry. There was a basketball game on and it was very loud. We had not been to 740 for a while, we used to enjoy it, but we won't return.
The bison filet that was recommended was tough and the asparagus cold. My partner had chicken and corn dish was ok.
The service was great. We really enjoyed our cocktails and appetizers. Our main dishes were disappointing other than the short rib entree. The steaks were either way over or undercooked, and the waygu flank steak tasted like it had been freezer burnt.
This place is an absolute GEM. The staff is magnificent and the food is superb. Nothing wasted here. Great place for “Date Night” in America.
Recently had an outstanding meal there. The highlight was the 45-day dry aged ribeye, which was perfectly prepared. I opted for the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach sides, which were also fantastic. Great cocktails, hisoric building with plenty of charm, and servers were all on their game. I'll be going back soon.
I've lived in the area for more than 30 years and never managed to visit this lovely establishment. Family was in town and we needed something close to their hotel to celebrate birthdays. 740 Front Street didn't disappoint. The ambience is charming and cozy. What a history??!! Make sure you read the back of the menu. Everyone cleaned their plates, and the service was top notch! Thank you so much for a wonderful family outing. Highly recommended.
This was our first dining experience at 740 Front. We were with two out of state friends and all enjoyed the ambiance and service. We were seated at a table next to the bar and the entrance so it was quite loud and people were shuffling by to be seated. We were OK with that but had to talk a bit louder to hear each other. The service was EXCELLENT! We loved the beautiful bar and our drinks were very good. The only issue was with the food. Our friends seemed to enjoy their entrees - sea bass and a special of the day which was a pasta with chicken and corn. We had the bison filet (which was very good) and the steak kabobs and grilled shrimp skewer. The steak kabob (I don't know what cut of beef) was very tough and chewy. There was quite a bit of gristle in it. I was able to cut around and get a few bites of beef that were edible. The shrimp was almost raw. Rather than disrupt our dinner with friends, I chose to just eat a few bites and bring the rest home for our dog - which made her very happy! Our bill was over $268. We enjoyed the ambiance and service but not sure we will visit again.
The ambiance is great, very neat place. Some of the food was outstanding, some was not, but that may have just come down to personal taste. The drinks were phenomenal though.
We arrived at happy hour and stayed through dinner. We started with the spinach dip and ceviche. Both delicious. I had the happy hour old fashion which was smooth and delicious. My husband had the aged ribeye and I had the flatiron steak for dinner. We agreed that I had the better steak. Although a little salty, it was juicy and tender. Great flavor. We had creme brulee for dessert. Not bad but not fabulous. It was more pasty than silky smooth & not enough sugar on top to crack. We will try something else next time.

I heard good things about the burgers here so I brought two friends tonight. Ordered two burgers, medium rare and they came out well done. The patties were not thick as one would expect for a steak burger and there was nothing special about them at all. Pretty sure a Good Times burger would have been much better. The upcharge of almost $2 for a skinny sliver of avocado was a joke (overcooked burger now at $19.45). We barely found the thin tomato under the onion for the two burgers. The flat iron chicken that was ordered was about 1cm thick. He did like the onions but had never seen a piece of chicken so thin. We weren’t asked how the food was because I’m pretty sure they knew by the looks of it. This was a very disappointing first time experience for my two friends that came over from Boulder. This experience gave them no reason to come back and try the more premium items on the menu another time. I’m sorry that I recommended it to them. I know times are difficult for restaurants but if you can’t execute on the most basic of items like a burger, something is amiss.

Visited 740 Last night for the first time for my birthday, atmosphere is great along with service, we got the calamari and crab cakes to start and both were absolutely delicious, i got the lamb pops for dinner and it was some of the best lamb ive had, my girlfriend got the clam linguine and the chef was able to accommodate her dairy allergies with no issues. Will most defiantly be back!
