Our first time to Marigold, to celebrate a birthday. What some people have called a cozy atmosphere, we found to be cramped. We were seated in the front where the tables are practically on top of each other -- not much chance for any kind of private conversation. We also found our server to be far from friendly, hardly even welcoming. He can recite anything you want to know (or not) about the food and wine, and he responded quickly and courteously to our questions and requests. Nevertheless, we found his interactions with us to be quite uninterested, which frankly made the dining experience much less pleasurable. Not so much as a "thank you for coming in."
That said, the food was the best we've had in a very long time. But that's not everything, at least not for us.

Super loud and hip. Food and wine is below average. Here's our weird twist on chicken. Here's our weird twist on fish. Here's our weird twist on wine. They're so busy being weird that they forgot to make the food taste good. Example: the croquetas were salt flavored, dipped in salt, with a salt after taste. But they had a really weird French name. The fish was served completely raw.

I’d give 1 star if it weren’t for the excellent service and atmosphere. Seeing as it is a rotating menu, try at your discretion, could be different another day. From the cocktails, to the appetizers, to the main course, everything was surprisingly awful. I’ve never gone and gotten another dinner after dinner, but I did tonight. Absolutely awful

What a fabulous experience! First, greeted by a lovely lady who knew my name. Then, innovative cocktails that were quite a surprise. The sumptuous meal, with delicious wine, was served at the perfect pace. The sommelier was clearly turned on by the discoveries he shared with us. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. Every bite encouraged us to eat more…drink more…relax more… The chef visited our table, and between him and our server, (who was also a sommelier) we felt like regulars even though it was our first time there. It won’t be our last: we intend to become regulars, and suggest you do as well. Not a single disappointment - including the availability of parking. Can’t wait to go back.

This past Saturday we visited Marigold for the second time. Our first visit, for my dad’s 80th birthday, did not disappoint and we were excited to visit again. Chef Theo, the sommelier Eric, and our server (Madison?) were fabulous and the food was incredible. We had 8+ dishes over the course of the evening and each was delicious, creative, and skillfully crafted. There was no bad dish, yet the rigatoni with the lamb ragu was our favorite. Eric has a wealth of knowledge about wine and historical context. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. It was also a real pleasure to meet Chef Theo and hear some of his great stories. In addition to being a talented chef, he is extremely personable and down to earth. It was cool to see him out “front of house” bussing tables, chatting with customers, etc. He even took the time to lend a helping hand and coach me through filleting my first skate wing! What a gem in lovely, resilient Lyons. Can’t wait until our next visit!

Our guests are always very impressed that a tiny town like Lyons is home to an establishment with such incredible food, drinks, service, and ambience. This is our favorite restaurant in Northern Colorado.

Fantastic. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. Everyone working at the restaurant was friendly and helpful. They told us about how they only use fresh, whole fish, which they filet themselves in-house. And how the lilac they use to infuse the spirits in the cocktails are from their own personal lilac bushes! Seems like all the ingredients were as fresh and as local as they possibly could be. Can't recommend highly enough!

Very cute and delicious restaurant. The atmosphere is great to take a date or have a dinner with friends or family and the serving staff are very friendly and personable. The food was awesome! Whether you want to try something new or a classic prepared very well it is a great place to eat. I hope to go back again sometime.
This is honestly one of the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. The food and service are on par with some of the finest dining restaurants I’ve been to. I especially appreciate the information and explanations I got from our server/ sommelier. We will definitely be back to enjoy this small farm to table restaurant

Everything about this place is gold. Nestled in the cute mountain town of Lyons, you can feel like you get out of the city bustle and get to relax in the chill atmosphere of this intimate restaurant. The food is unbelievably delicious— every single bite. The service is excellent—kind, attentive and knowledgeable staff who genuinely care about what and how they are serving. I love that so much of the menu comes from within 20 miles of the restaurant . Great for a date night or a night out with friends that is sure to impress. Can’t recommend enough.
