Went as a church function. It was just ok. I'm not sure what the hype is. The tea was good the food was ok. I was told we were going to be in another room cause there were about 15 of us, but once they saw "who" we were, they put us in a not so nice area. Being that it's in Manitou, the parking is limited. For me, this is not the type of place I would visit twice.

Thank you for making my daughter's 9th belated birthday in the tea room so memorable for her and her friends. Everything was wonderful and exploring the castle afterwards was fun all of the staff was very nice and patient. Thank you so much, we definitely will be back over the summer.

We had a FABULOUS TEA Time at The Miramont Castle Museum and Tea Room!!I would rate the food and service Excellent!! My 3 Granddaughters loved the deserts the Best! The self guided tour was perfect! Be sure to do the Scavenger Hunt if you have children. Don’t forget the Gift Shop at the Top. They loved it! It was the Servants Quarters and has its own secrets!! Lots of vintage style new fun toys and better quality items for any age. It topped off our perfect Day!! I’d do this again in a heartbeat its so fun!

Not impressed Just a large house clad in stone with crenellations round the roof. Obviously there are no bona fide castles in US, but they could have tried harder. The 'afternoon tea' was travesty. starting with a scone that clogged in the mouth, then some rather strange little savories followed by uninspiring cakes/desserts. The tea was good though

We enjoyed our self-guided tour of the home. The woman at the front desk greeted us and gave us a little information along with a map that contained information on each room in the castle. This home of a former priest was built for himself and his mother, and later used by nuns. The caretakers of this castle have done an amazing job with restorations and placing information throughout the home to learn about the style of the room, its use, and the people who lived there. It was all very fascinating. It took us about two hours but we would have stayed longer if we didn't have to catch a flight. We didn't stay for tea, but it looks like that would have been a fun experience as well. I recommend this stop if you have any interest in history at all and you're looking for something to do for a few hours!

We did the high-tea and the castle tour today, October 28th. Since today was their Halloween themed day the price per person for the high tea was increased from the normal $45 to $55 not to mention it’s an additional $12 to request vegan food. (Which don’t get me wrong is awesome that that is even offered, just unfortunate about the additional price increase). We got to the Castle at 11:30 and paid for the tour which we got a measly $1 discount since we were doing the high tea. The woman that checked us in was very nice!! The tour is self guided and only took us 30 minutes, and that was with us purposefully trying to walk slow and read everything. We still had 30 minutes to kill before we could do high tea so we just kept walking around. The museum part itself is pretty neat and the history is really cool. With the price of high tea, I had really high expectations. Once we got to high tea and I saw how beautifully the tables were set, I had even higher expectations. Each person in our party got to pick their own tea and each teapot was unique and beautiful. I ordered the seasonal pumpkin spice tea and it was unfortunately tasteless. The first dish was a tiny little scone that was super dry. Then out came a fancy glass with cut up fruit which was delicious. Then we got 4 small sandwich types things to eat. They did a great job running with the Halloween theme for the food, but the food itself was horrid. Bland, cold, hard, like seriously so incredibly disappointing. Finally came dessert which was a little worse than the food. 4 tiny little desserts, again following the Halloween theme, which were gross and a lot of the food had weird textures and seemed like it had just been sitting out all day. You only get an hour which makes you feel slightly rushed as they bring the food and collect your used plates and utensils. The people working that brought the food were really great and nice and I did feel pampered. But man, the food was just sooooo disappointing for the ridiculous price tag. Not only was it disgusting but the portions were maybe enough to fill up a 5 year old. I was still so hungry after we were done that we had to go and spend even more money to get food that was actually filling. Not worth it. I wonder if the food is better when there isn’t a holiday theme involved.

I sincerely hate to give this place a bad review because I was so looking forward to this experience. As a tourist looking to explore the most popular attractions of Manitou Springs, Miramount Castle was on our list of places to visit. Right away, we were greeted by a woman at the front desk who gave us a briefing of the castle. I asked her if there were still reservations for the tea room and she checked for us. Luckily, there was room for us. We toured the basement, which was full of fascinating firefighters memorabilia. That was the only section we explored before it was time for our reservation in the tea room. When we got to the tea room, the service and food was pretty good. However, when I went to pay, the experience truly took a turn for the worst. The manager/ waitress came back with my card and two receipts that said declined. She said "I'm not sure why but it didn't go through." I immediately called my bank to see if there was a hold on my card since I was out of town. The bank explained to me that the charge did go through since it was pending and that she would send me an email with confirmation that the charge was approved to show to the waitress. The waitress came back 15-20 minutes later and before I could even show her the email, she dismissed me and pointed to the two declined receipts and insisted that it doesn't matter what the bank says and that I was wrong. I calmly explained to her that it did matter what the bank said and that she should talk to the bank employee to help sort this out. All the while, there were several families still in the tea room witnessing and hearing this whole ordeal. She was not being discrete about this situation at all or trying to help solve the misunderstanding between the two parties. At this point, people were staring at us and it was starting to feel extremely embarrassing as this woman repeatedly announced that my card declined twice. She walked away again and when she came back, she grabbed the phone and dismissed the bank employee and told us to get our belongings and go to the office to speak to her boss. I will say, the ladies in the front office were very respectful and willingly spoke to the bank to try and figure out the situation. I sincerely appreciated their tone, their patience, and their willingness to get all of the facts before jumping to conclusions. Eventually, the waitress stormed back in and said "at the end of the day her pending charge will disappear when I run my batch ( or run her drawer)" and then became visibly irritated when we suggested that she run the batch to see if the charge did show up/ go through. All in all, this experience was humiliating and extremely disappointing for me. My friend and I were so blown away by the lack of respect from the waitress that we did not finish the tour of the castle that we paid for. It is a beautiful castle from what little of it that we could see and the tea time experience was cool, but the manager/server of the tea room really could use some lessons on empathy, respect and customer service. I hope this is a one time thing and that no one ever has to experience the humiliation I faced when dealing with her in a time of misunderstanding.

The fact that a tour is not included in high tea is extremely disappointing. At high tea, the tea was good, the food was fair. The service left a lot to be desired. Had to ask for cream, sugar and honey for our tea three times before the tiniest amount was brought to the table. The chicken salad and a few other items were not only not traditional, but were clearly purchased from Costco. Waters were never refilled.

Gorgeous historical site. Visiting this museum takes you back to the original time period (1895). Very beautifully designed and maintained, everything in this museum demonstrated the care in preserving the authenticity of the time period. Given the chance, I would highly suggest having High Tea in the Queens Parlor—very unique experience that will not disappoint. The food is delicious, the tea is impeccable and the service was beautiful and authentic. Would definitely visit again, overall a beautiful timepiece that displays history in an interactive, informative and awe inspiring kind of way.

The lady at the front was absolutely amazing didn’t waste our time or our money. We were short on time and she went through the directions as fast as she could. It was great because she helped get us to the starting point of the castle. Astonishing experience please visit any chance you get and make sure to tip the lady in the front she is one heck of a lady! Thank you for the grand experience!

Though I wish they used ac as all that hot tea had us using the hats as fans! The food was delicious and combined with the tea by the time I got to dessert, I was so full!Even bought some of the tea to bring back home

The High Tea was a great experience! I thought it was a little pricy at first ($45 / person), but the food and tea were delicious, the servers were attentive, and the atmosphere was delightful. My wife and I were quite pleased and contented with our experience. The tour of the castle was not included with High Tea package and that was an extra $14 / person. If you’re used to seeing European castles, this was a bit lackluster. Just as the architecture of the castle is all over the place, so were the exhibits. One room had the Nuremberg trials, while another was a firefighter exhibit, and yet another was the living quarters of the former inhabitants. It just wasn’t clear what the connection was among them. Still, it was a neat place to visit. There was no guide, but there were lots of informative signs and displays.Outside, the grounds were verdant and peaceful with benches and fountains. With the balmy weather, it was a pleasant experience. Overall, this was a great place to visit and one of Colorado Springs’ hidden gems.

I'm sure there are people who will appreciate the history of an old mess of a castle built by someone with more money than they knew what to do with or how to maintain.I have an interest in architecture, and this just wasn't for me.One time through was more than enough, I would have been better off wandering the town for 20 minutes. Side note: It's not really a good place for smaller kids. The ladies that run the museum were friendly.
