Bad attitude on staff. They should learn to shut up and not engage people on a public sidewalk. Mind your business. You looked stupid on camera BTW.

The food was pretty good. The falafels were dry. Be careful because they charge you extra if you ask for extra sauce and don’t tell you!!! Server was nice

Food was cold, mushy. Server was not interested in being there. I ordered hot tea and he put an empty tea pot on my table . When they brought requested fries to be warm it wasn’t even the same menu item. Bizarre o world
I’m a local and I wonder if tourism is the only reason they stay open bc it’s a one and done experience.

Mediterranean food is my absolute favorite and I love trying new places from different areas. The service here is amazing! We were greeted promptly, and our waitress was very attentive. The cafe is quaint and cozy, love the regional decor. It was steadily busy while we were there but everyone was greeted quickly!
The good:
The sage tea was amazing! Very good flavor whether enjoying it hot or cold
The hummus was very good.
Portions were good sized. (Two people could easily share a plate)
The chocolate baklava was to die for! Served warm and so delicate and amazing.
Right down the street from the penny arcade.
The not so good:
Prices are very high (understandable for the tourist area but I was hoping the food would match)
The felafel was almost cold, had it been hot it would have been a different story as the flavors were good but it wasn't.
The lamb was tough.
Overall for a salad, a combo kabob plate, order of felafel and a baklava and 2 teas we paid over $80 which is steep for a lunch in my opinion. Especially to walk away disappointed at the food quality.
I'm happy we tried somewhere new today, the flavors were unique, I love Manitou Springs so I was excited to try Sahara Cafe today.

Dined here on the 12/27 for lunch. Great food. Dolmas were delicious, as were the falafel and the hummus too. Pitas went well in the veggie platter. If you read any review on here from someone (party of 2) who "has been going here for 9 years" and thought the "pita was too spicy" please ignore their comments. They were being obnoxious, asked for plain pita (w/o za'atar), and then sent it back/said say they didn't want it. Took a lot out of my party to not say anything but I can't begin to describe how annoying these people were.
In summary - great food and great service.

We loved our shwarmas, chicken and lamb. This place serves up some authentic shwarmas around town. The lamb shwarma was off the hook.
They can work a bit on furniture and keeping up with the cleanup.

Stopped for a coffee and baklava. Both quite good. I would go again when we are on a walk down here.

Really don’t care to even try this place anymore I’ve seen it when I take the kids to the penny arcade but after the video I just watch and the staff come out of a building to name call and harass public photography is crazy so I would recommend another place to try while your in town visiting
Food is great, employees though have attitudes…

Nice Mediterranean eatery, Sage tea is a must try if you need a calm, relaxing and sweet drink, goes well with a side of Falafel and any of their entrees. Angela is very prompt in her service, checks in often and was nice to give us an extra Baklava for dessert on the house.

Food was amazing. Staff were super friendly. Portions were big and filling.
Vegetarian options: I saw a vegetarian section, but I did not read it, so can't give more help than that.
It was only me and I was too full so I didn't order the baklava, but it sure looked good.
Kid-friendliness: There was a family there and I saw the staff take great care with them and their kids. Super friendly and helpful.
