What a gem!!! Fantastic sandwiches—definitely get the Deli Pesto! For vegetarians, the create your own veggie sandwich with havarti cheese was also so good. Everyone here was so nice, and the inside is so quaint and cute!

I got the veggie burger (veggie patty, onions, lettuce, tomato, sprouts, avocado, mustard, garlic spread on a vegan heritage roll) with chips, and I was blown away by the combination of ingredients! It's not quite a burger, more like a heavy sandwich, and it's one of the best I've had. On top of that, the location had great ambience, and the staff was quite friendly. Definitely going to return to this place when I visit Manitou Springs again! (I would give a five-star review if five stars weren't reserved for more thorough vegan/vegetarian places.)

I’ve been wanting to try Mate for a while, and after finishing the Incline, I came across this spot and decided to check it out. The staff was super friendly and took the time to explain how it’s made and all the health benefits. They gave me a sample to try, and it was really tasty—nice and refreshing. I got it on ice, and since it was my first time, they even gave it to me for free! Such a great first experience. I’ll definitely be back to try more drinks, check out the food, and see what their Mate bars are all about.

I got the veggie burger and it was delicious. I’d rank it in my top 5 veggie burgers. The lemon lime maté was so yummy too, perfect after a long bike ride. Service was equally as good. Extremely kind and fast.

Blah, wanted warm drinks, after $15 we got three below average drinks. Ordered small Latte got a medium because she grabbed a medium cup, but then filled it with milk so it just tasted like watered down
warm milk. Thanks!

A Five-Star Review for Café Yerba Mate – A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Manitou Springs

There’s a magic to Manitou Springs that you can feel as soon as you arrive. It’s a town that invites you to slow down, connect, and savor life a little more. And at the heart of this experience is Café Yerba Mate—a place that feels less like a restaurant and more like a gathering spot for the soul.

The moment you walk through the door, the warmth hits you. The staff here? They’re not just friendly; they radiate kindness. They greet you with a smile that says, “You belong here,” and there’s this wonderful energy that makes you feel more like an old friend than a customer. It’s a place where you can feel the culture of connection—not rushed, not transactional, but deeply human.

But let’s talk about the food because wow. Every dish is crafted with fresh ingredients, attention to flavor, and a level of care you can taste in every bite. Whether you’re here for a quick pick-me-up or a long, lingering lunch, Café Yerba Mate delivers on every level. And don’t worry if you’re vegetarian—they’ve got you covered. Their vegetarian options aren’t just an afterthought—they’re thoughtful, flavorful, and every bit as satisfying as anything else on the menu. You’ll leave knowing that your preferences don’t just matter here—they’re celebrated.

And if you’re a Yerba Mate fan—or even if you’ve never tried it—this café plays host to some of the best brews you’ll ever taste. Imagine sipping this earthy, rejuvenating drink while taking in the artistic and quirky vibes of Manitou Springs. It’s the kind of moment that makes you pause and think, Life is pretty amazing right now.

The atmosphere here is what sets Café Yerba Mate apart from the dozens of other stops you could make in Manitou. It’s perfectly curated to feel both innovative and authentic, where locals and newcomers alike can come together for conversation, connection, and incredible food. It’s not just a café; it’s a sanctuary—one you’ll find yourself coming back to, again and again.

If you’re looking for a café where the staff makes you feel seen, the food makes you feel full (in every sense of the word), and the atmosphere reminds you why you fell in love with places like Manitou Springs in the first place, Café Yerba Mate is where you need to be.

Five stars. No doubt about it. But honestly? They deserve more than just stars—they deserve a spot on your must-visit list. Because once you experience it, you’ll understand. Some things in life just can’t be missed.

So happy I found this place. I went to school in Chattanooga and we have a Yellow Deli there and I've been missing their food. So awesome that I found out they're affiliated.
