This place is a gem and should be visited by anyone in the Vail area. Place is fantastic, old west feel with a great staff and food. Corn bread was out of this world and save room for the cookie and ice cream in a skillet!

Totally worth the drive to Minturn from Vail. The food and service out rank some of the highest rated places I have dined while staying in Vail (Including remedy at the Four Seasons) This place must do dining location to get excellent local Colorado fare and the local vibe.

Paul is a badass. We loved our conversation with him about the restaurant and his life. He was awesome, thank you for sharing your restaurant with us

Great spot, Adison was an angel. The renovation I believe took a little charm from the place.

Great 3-generation night out. Food was fantastic - loaded nachos and chips w/ queso, guac and salsa, QUESABIRRIA!, chicken enchiladas, kids meals, and a warm skillet cookie to top it all off! Excellent service! Super friendly staff!

We were here New Year's Eve. Was not that crowded. Pleasantly surprised that it was Tex Mex! Very good fajitas and Birria quesadillas! Very good margaritas by the carafe!

Food was excellent! And staff was wonderful!! The smash burger in a tortilla was next level. And the margaritas nice and sour when we asked for them that way!

The food was very tasty and we loved the atmosphere. The service needs some improvements which would make a bid difference and be easy to make. The restaurant needs larger plates to serve food. For example, the fixings for the fajitas (guacamole, sour cream, salsa, cilantro, cheese, lettuce) were all crammed together on a tiny little saucer sized plate which was so full, you couldn't take anything off the plate without causing other food to fall off of it onto the table. Our cocktails arrived sticky (sticky handles and sticky all around the glass). We were longing for our water glasses to be refilled but despite multiple requests, they were never refilled. When we finished our appetizers and the waitress was clearing the table to make room for entrees, she resisted when I asked for a new fork and instead took my dirty fork off my appetizer plate she was picking up, and put it directly on the table so that it would be saved for my entree which was kind of gross! Little things like that are easy to correct and hopefully the restaurant will take note! We would recommend this restaurant for the food and atmosphere.

We dined here during a ski vacation. I was excited to go based on its history, and while I'm glad we went we don't have any urge to return. The server was great, and it was cool to read of the long history of this business which was well presented on the menu, but the food itself was average at best and the prices were very exorbitant. Overall it was an interesting place to visit, but the food did not stand out and the value was just not there.

Made a trip out to Minturn like we do every year and decided to pick up a few salads to go. Called in an order and the guy, Brian answers the phone and was rude right away. Then I ask if I can place an order to go and he says, “he’s not sure if he can.” Puts me on hold to check. Gets back on the phone and asks what we wanted to order. I told him it would be 4 Cesar salads with chicken. He yells to the kitchen staff and asks if they have time to make 4 Cesar salads with chicken because they are really busy. Someone tells back and says, “yeah! It’s only salads!” Then he asks, if there was anything else I wanted and I said no. He proceeds to tell me he can’t hear me. At this point I’m yelling at him telling him no. He then asks for my name and I say my name and again he’s telling me he can’t hear me even though I’m telling at him. Tells me I need to call back with a name then hangs up. So I had to call back twice to give my name and number. We decided to order food to go because it’s more convenient for us since we have a family member in a wheelchair and The Saloon isn’t wheelchair friendly. It was a little disappointing to experience such bad service at a place we enjoy going to. Especially after sending $96.52 on 4 Cesar salads with rude customer service.

Amazing place! The food was excellent; great chef who works really hard. The atmosphere was lovely. You can tell the owners put a lot of money and pride into the renovations. We highly recommend this place. The squash enchiladas were to die for, and the fajitas were great. Our kids also loved it. Highly recommended!!!
