Shelter Distilling has craft-quality drinks and great food at the airport. Their cocktails are smooth and well-balanced, and the food is great. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed yet stylish—perfect for unwinding before or after a flight. If you have time for a drink, I’d stop here!

Perfect place to stop before or after your flight. Friendly staff and delicious food and drinks. Definitely stop by the next time your coming through the Montrose Airport

This is an excellent spot before your flight from Montrose. It is impressive how much volume they can handle in the mad rush before a flight. The staff is super friendly, and the selection of spirits is great.

Got a chicken wrap and some vegetables spring rolls - the Food is absolutely tasteless!! Not sure how but even their hot chocolate is tasteless!!
Maybe the alcoholic drinks are good…. (?) You can’t go wrong with that, right?!

Outstanding! The spirits, beer, food, service, and ambiance were all outstanding. Bought a bottle of their single malt and tequila to take home. Actually considering going back for supper tonight.

Our second time here, and we were hopeful it was better than our first experience… Once seated we placed our drink order, it took 15 minutes to get our drinks, we were done with our drinks, waiting to order food, finally ordered an appetizer, and one more round of drinks. Our food came, we ate it, still waiting for our drinks. Finally I told our waitress to cancel our drinks. We had already been there over an hour and a half. The waitress was awsome.. but she told us only one bartender, and very under staffed.. very disappointing.

I recently visited the Montrose location and honestly, I'm blown away. To start, the server we had was very polite and her serving was perfect! She didn't come to our table too much, or too little. I had a question about the sourcing of the elk meat and she didn't know, but she responded that she would find out and return. She did so promptly with an answer. The food and drink were amazing. we had the elk carpaccio and the beef tacos. I've eaten in Park City, Utah at some boujie places ( no I'm not rich, just dating a pastry sous chef from there has its perks) so I've tried Forbes 4 and 5 star restaurants. The quality of food places right up there with them, if not better. The elk was very well done and flavor pallette was phenomenal. The tacos, holy hell, melted in your mouth like butter and the flavor was excellent. The desserts are also amazing! We tried both the apple pie and the chocolate dessert ( mud something, sorry I forgot the name) and they were on point. Knowing the apple pie is made in house and even the apples are fresh!! The chocolate wasn't overly sweet and was the perfect serving size. MG (the manager) is a very sincere manager who answered all questions and took his time to discuss the sourcing of all products as well as the beer whoch is brewed in house. I'm happy to say that the products are all locally sourced out of Montrose, and the beer, let's just say if I want a cold one this is the place I'm going. 20/10 would highly recommend. The prices are great, especially for the quality of food you're getting. Portions are perfect, a very clean, sleek, friendly environment. Even better it's on the river front and has an area for corn hole and a couple of other games. Great view with super friendly staff, incredible food, and fantastic drink selection brewed in house. Seriously, if you haven't eaten here try it. Don't believe me, go try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

They added a couple of breakfast specials for brunch today. A friend and I shared the lox and bagel special and the chefs chorizo gravy with beautiful light and fluffy homemade biscuits topped with scrambled eggs. It was delicious! A server took our order and the service was wonderful. Strolled down to the river after. What a delightful afternoon! 🫶🏻😋

Hope they work out their kinks because the atmosphere is super cool and the waiters are patient and attentive. Will review again in a month and see how things improve with the robot waitress. FYI, there’s no server. The online ordering is an absolute disaster. I never even received my burger until I had to ask twice and then they finally brought it out, my boyfriend’s burger was made well done when he ordered medium rare. He sent it back and they never remade it so we ended up leaving and having it comped off of our check. Good luck and Order your food all together if you’re in a group or it will all come out separately

Drinks are extremely overpriced and mediocre. I didn’t get food but from what I saw I would never order food from here. It’s just frozen items in a toaster. There were several older gentleman asking for a physical menu which was not an option resulting in them leaving entirely. The online menu doesn’t load well and has lots of items that are “out of stock.” I won’t be back next time I’m at the airport. Not at all impressed..
