“The food was pretty good but the service was terrible. The waitress brought our drinks and then never came back at all!!There was a man that brought our food out and got what we needed but I believe that should have been the waitresses job.The manager just stood around and never came over to see if we needed anything and the restaurant was not busy at all.“

“Denny's Golden is my favorite Denny's restaurant, and I've been to many Denny's! The interior is beautiful, the servers (my favorite is Linda) are attentive, fast, and friendly. The next time you are in Golden, Colorado, be sure to check it out. I highly recommend it.“

“I stopped in for breakfast early this morning, and I'm glad I did! Had planned on trying Denver Biscuit Company, but since they weren't open yet I looked around and found the Golden Diner. I got the diner plate, which had two eggs over medium, bacon, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy - my typical litmus test for a first visit. I also tried a piece of their brisket sausage, which was peppery and tasty. The bacon was extra crispy, just how I like it! Eggs were just a touch overdone but still delicious, and the hash browns were perfection - crispy and brown on the edges and nice and tender in the middle. I don't know exactly what they do with their biscuits and gravy, but they do it very well! Biscuits were fresh - soft not stale, and that gravy... Mmmmm-Hhmmmm! 🤌 *chef's kiss* I'll be back!!!“

“Updating old review (12/24). But be wary of old reviews. New ownership changed alot of stuff in 2024. Came here for decades.
Bring cash, they charge extra for cards now.
Service is always wonderful. Staff is great, friendly, and they are always working super hard/fast. Staff is 5+++ star.
Food has increased in price (increases are expected, especially with this inflation... but prices seemed to go up higher than normal here).
Burgers are good here, when done properly (one of the few places we can still get a rare or med-rare burger! But like all places, sometimes they just come out well done anyway). But they are well seasoned too.
Bacon is still top notch.
Breakfast burritos are pretty big for the price. Wife is vegetarian and always gets those, she likes them.“

“Coming from the New York Metro, I grew up with diners. Having lived elsewhere in the country, I discovered that they are rare when you leave that area.
I moved to Denver, assuming that real diners were behind me. Then we discovered Gunther Toody's. Oh joy! Bliss!
The rules of a true diner include 1. Breakfast all day.
2. Comfort foods, like burgers and meatloaf. This isn't a place that offers kale. And that is a good thing.
We decided to take advantage of the diner rules. My daughter ordered a half order of biscuits with sausage gravy. And Beignets. The raspberry, which came with a side of chocolate dipping sauce.
We took a booth by the Harley, and our waitress was wonderful. I ordered a burger with Swiss and mushrooms, and asked for mashed instead of fries.
And coffee.
I am a fussy about my coffee. No Starbucks for me. I brew my own at home with a coffee press, thanks. And I don't expect much when I eat out. But my java addiction is strong, so I asked for coffee.
First test...5 stars.
Fresh, just strong enough and no burnt overtones. I believe I downed three cups of their perfect brew.
The biscuits and gravy were fantastic. My daughter made happy sounds.
The Beignets were perfect. Fresh, light and the best compliment to the dipping chocolate. (I had one myself. The angels sang!)
Now let's talk about the burger. My inner carnivore was primed for beef. I should explain that all burgers are NOT created equal. I am a fan of In and Out, but fast food Burgers have truly dulled our senses to what a truly fine burger can be.
I took a cautious bite.
Omg.
I am not sure what they do. But it was delicious, and fresh and a perfect combo.
A truly fine burger needs no condiments. I ate this one just as it came. The mashed were wonderful to, with brown gravy on the side.
So good!
The prices were reasonable.
The service was lovely.
Absolutely worth a visit.
My thanks for bringing a diner back to our options!
We will return!😁“
